The Suite is in a family run B&B, in an ancient 13th century tower, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards with peaceful garden and plenty of artworks, being home of a sculptor. Located on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, at about 20 km from Cortona and Montepulciano and 10 km from lake Trasimeno, it is also easily connected to the best itineraries of this wonderful part of Italy: Siena, Arezzo, the Orcia Valley, Pienza and Montalcino, Perugia, Orvieto and many more...

The space

The B&B is family run and has 4 double rooms available for the guests.
Its oldest part comes from the Middle Age, and it is known that Santa Margherita, the patron saint of Cortona, lived here in the XIII century. The little chapel is still a holy place. The owner is a sculptor and you can see his artwork everywhere in the house. The property is surrounded by the most enchanting Tuscan landscape, with olive groves and vineyards, just a short drive from the beautiful towns of Cortona, Montepulciano and lake Trasimeno. A small village is just one km away, with a convenient store and a bar.
The suite room is a large bedroom with a view, a corridor and a spacious and bright bathroom with bathtub.
The family will be pleased to show you the amazing view from the tower and will help you find the typical trattoria which is not on the guide books yet or the small local producer where to buy Vino Nobile di Montepulciano or the best pecorino cheese.
Extra services on request: Traditional Tuscan breakfast with local products, buffet dinner on the tower , aperitifs with sparkling wine "just for two" on the tower (honeymoon special), cooking lesson followed by dinner: learn to make Pici, the local home made pasta!

Guest access

the B&B is located in the house, but with a private entrance and separate from the owners' apartment. The 4 rooms for the guests, all with en suite bathrooms, are on the first floor , and share a sitting room with art books and literature about the territory, and free wifi.
On the ground floor the breakfast room (for the Italian breakfast included in the room rate) with coffee and tea facilities, a large hall with a piano, and a peaceful garden for the guests to sit and relax, with a BBQ and tables and chairs to have breakfast outside, pool.

Interaction with guests

The family lives in the house and is available to give you information about the area, suggesting the best itineraries and excursions, and ready to help you booking restaurants, wine tastings or any other activities. Massimo is a sculptor and you can see him working in his workshop and possibly also carve a piece of olive wood together! Italian breakfast is included in the room rate and, on request, Antonella can prepare for you (at an extra charge) a traditional Tuscan breakfast with local products or a buffet dinner on the tower (for groups only), an aperitifs for two (honeymooners special) or organize an informal cooking lesson followed by dinner: learn to make Pici, the local home made pasta! Traditonal Tuscan dinner can also be served on request please ask in advance.

Quiet, serene, contemplative vibe - a must stay for any thinking traveller to Italy and it's beautiful countryside. Hats off to Jade, daughter of Antonella, for assisting her mother in running this very delightful BnB

Incredible views. Exceptional hospitality. Antonella was kind enough to bake my fiance a gluten-free strawberry tart for breakfast. Next time we'll book dinner on the rooftop ;)

Words cannot truly convey how exceptional and magical a visit we had with the amazing Antonella, her husband, exceptional artist & sculpture master Massimo and their brilliant nephew Brenno at their lovely home. Our magnificent ( and delicious!) evenings on the tower with stunning panoramic views as well as engaging breakfast conversations with Antonella and Brenno in their beautiful garden will forever be held precious in our hearts and memories. We stayed in the tower suite overlooking the pool (which was so needed in the hot summer month of June) and rolling Toscano hillside and couldn't have asked for a more memorable stay. You must have a car to truly enjoy the area, (as we did!) as they are secluded, but are centrally located to drive to all of the beautiful and historic towns of Montepulciano, Cortona, Arezzo, Subbiano, Pienza and of course...Siena, Pisa, Florence

Wonderful place to stay! Beautiful carvings and sculptures throughout the building. Antonella was an amazingly helpful host and helped us decide where to go and what to see while in the area. Breakfasts in the garden were fabulous. We booked a special dinner on top of the tower at sunset and the food, wine and views at sunset were truly incredible! Wonderful experience!

Antonella User ProfileAntonella is a superhost.

Hallo, i'm Antonella, I've been living in this wonderful part of Tuscany since 1985, moving from Rome and never wanting to go back: this house is not just a big house, it's our home, a piece of history (Santa Margaret of Cortona lived here in the 13th century) and an atelier: my husband is a sculptor and his work of art is spread all around: this is a place for art lovers.
