The space

Spacious and charming Outremont apartment, 10 minutes walk from Mile End, with 2 balconies and a huge roof deck, accessible by a spiral staircase in the kitchen.

The rooftop terrace is a great spot to recline or eat dinner with a fabulous view of Mount Royal, L'Église Sainte-Madeleine, and the neighbourhood's beautiful green treetops.

The huge, bright kitchen features a cathedral ceiling with skylights, and french doors that lead onto the back balcony which contains a gas BBQ. The rear balcony faces the back alley which can be a hub of neighbourly activity in the summer, with children playing and adults sipping cocktails.

In the back of the kitchen there is a big closet that holds the washer and dryer.

The living room features a skylight, exposed brick, a working cast iron fireplace, and a 46" flat screen TV. We also have a huge collection of vinyl LPs that you are free to enjoy.
The smallish bathroom contains a big original clawfoot tub, original tile, a brand new sink, toilet, and ceiling fan, and custom-built wooden cabinetry.

The apartment is on the third floor of a beautiful brick triplex built in 1912. The apartment retains much of the original charm with some nice updates, like pot lighting in the living room, custom stained glass, and accents of vintage wallpaper.

There is one bedroom with a bed. The front living room, which has doors that close, could serve as a private room for an additional guest (or two) who don't mind sleeping on the very comfy couch and/or on a queen-sized air mattress (which we can provide).

Visitors in the summer will appreciate the apartment's air conditioning.

Adam's apartment is in the perfect location! I visited for the weekend and loved his many eating and shopping recommendations around Outrement, Mile End, and Le Plateau. He provided a great map of his and his girlfriend's favorite places, which was extremely useful. You can venture to Old Town, but his neighborhood and the ones adjacent were definitely my favorite. The apartment is as pictured, with fun art and a spiral staircase. The roof deck looked beautiful, though I didn't get a chance to use it because of the weather. All in all, a great getaway!

Adam was a great host! Although I reserved his place in last minute(just a few hours before my arrival) he organised every thing with speed of light. He was abroad during my stay, however he was always easy to reach via email and he was always prompt in his replies. He worked real hard to provide a perfect stay. His place is really really nice. The rooms are large and full of light which I like very much. There is a nice balcony and a wonderful terrace. The place is very nice furnishes with wonderful wood works. Adam provided all the stuff you might need (including some very good cooking books). The place is a very nice and quite neighbourhood with some very nice restaurants and cafes in just a few steps distance. Next time I am in Montreal I will definitely stay there, and if you are going to Montreal don't ever miss this place!

This place was awesome. We really enjoyed staying at the apartment. We loved the neighbourhood, and the apartment is close to many delicious bakeries, nice restaurants, and great bars in Outremont and Mile End. Their place is very charming. The best part was the rooftop deck where we liked to hang out and enjoy the view of the city and is great for sunsets. They made us feel very welcome, giving us a long list of fun places to go and info about how to use everything in the apartment. Adam was frequently in touch with us during the stay, touching base to make sure we had everything we needed. The apartment has lots of space inside, and was nice and quiet.

Adam was a wonderful host! Before we arrived, he provided me and my boyfriend with multiple lists of suggested places to visit, sights to see, and restaurants to experience. Though we did not make it to every suggestion, each that we experienced, was new, exciting, and 100% worth a visit. Although Adam was not there to meet us to pick up the keys, a friend of his was, who was gracious, timely, and helpful. There was a small mixup with the keys the first night, but luckily everything got sorted out quickly and in the end, everything was fine. I do suggest - to anyone - no matter where you go on Airbnb- it’s always a smart idea to verify that you have the correct keys. Adam and the friend, both very helpful and did everything to right the situation, which was appreciated. The apartment is even more beautiful than the pictures! The rooftop terrace with the lights was a magnificent way to spend an evening with a sunset and a glass of wine. Admittedly it was a bit chilly, so their massive collection of blankets was appreciated. Their friend who met us, mentioned that the previous owner of the apartment was an architect, which is reflected in the space itself, everything just has a wonderful vibe. The description of the listing was quite accurate, but it could brag a bit more. :) It is a little hard to describe such a lovely place, in just words. The apartment was clean, but also not sterile. it has personality and a very large collection of books. Adam is generous and trusting enough to allow respectful guests to use his record player, which made for a perfect opportunity to give my boyfriend an early birthday present (a Van Morrison vinyl) - which he could play on our first night there. The shower is a little hard to get to maintain a temperature but with a little fiddling, it wasn’t too bad. The wi-fi worked without any trouble, although we didn’t use it much with all there was to see in the city. The neighborhood is quiet but within a couple of streets, there is plenty to see and do and explore. It is nicely location within reach of downtown but not in the midst of it so the nights are peaceful on the rooftop. There is a school nearby so there was some noise of children during the morning/ daytime but nothing really bothersome. The neighborhood is nicely location near Mont Royal which is a wonderful place to go for a stroll. Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay. Adam has great taste in literature, design, and decor. He was super helpful with suggestions of nearby sights. We would gladly return to Montreal to stay here again.
