Experience the magic of Idaho's legendary Lake Pend Oreille. Enjoy sleeping in a quaint, historic float house. Great location in a popular marina on the south end of the lake, midway between Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint. Lake Life at its best!
You will have a bedroom and private half bath in a float house. It is not a houseboat, it is a real -old- house that floats on cedar logs. There is no engine, we do not go anywhere, we are moored on a dock in a marina. Our guest room is small and cozy, perfect for one or two. When we do not have family and friends visiting we like to offer it to visitors who seek a unique, fun get-away!
There is a half-bath adjacent to your room, a 'loo with a view'... the marina has very nice, immaculate, public showering facilities. We are happy to include a simple breakfast and dinner at no additional cost. There are restaurants in the nearby village, if you prefer.
Interaction with guests
This is our summer residence, it is a small house, your bedroom does have a private entrance. We are friendly and like to share our lake life-style with similar minded folks. You need not feel confined to your quarters ..There are many outdoor activities. One of our favorite things to do is just sit on the dock and read a good book ..or talk to the geese and ducks. Weather permitting, we will treat you to a boat tour of the nearby floating homes.
Other things to note
We are unable to accommodate children under 12 and pets. If there are more than 1 or 2 people in your party consider staying in one of our marina's cabins. Just email me and I will give you the contact info.
This is a non-smoking property, inside and out. There is no swimming at our dock due to boat traffic and other safety concerns. Farragut State Park has a beautiful swim area. If you enjoy adventure and want to experience an interesting glimpse of North Idaho, come and see us!
Hello, my name is Pat and the handsome fellow in the pictures with me is my husband, Richard. We are very relaxed, go with the flow kind of people. Richard is a retired, former printing company owner, the inventor of a successful golf product. I quit my law librarian day job some years ago to have a more flexible lifestyle. We are outdoors enthusiasts, we enjoy interesting people and diverse cultures. We believe if everyone had the opportunity to travel it would be a much better world.
Five things we can't live w/o : good friends, good coffee, good wine, good food and good health, and not necessarily in that order.
We decided to join AirBnB based on the enthusiastic reviews our friends give the program (they are guests, not hosts). We enjoy meeting people and sharing the incredible area we are so fortunate to live in... so we decided to give 'hosting' a try. You are cordially invited to visit us in beautiful Bonny Doon!
