This log home, is nestled on the shores of Abram lake and is located minutes from town and close to a public boat launch. Its' cozy tranquillity is perfect for a couple in need of escape. Full kitchen, laundry facilities, and dock, are available.

The space

This is our summer home. My father hand crafted this cozy 600 sq. ft. log home. It has a walk out master bedroom with a queen bed and a beautiful gas fire place. There is a wood fireplace on the main floor, that is temporarily out of service.
There is a modern quaint kitchen and bathroom with Jucuzzi tub with steam bath. In the living room there is a 42 plasma TV. and recline couch and reclining rocking chair. BBQ on the front deck. Laundry facilities are available. This is my summer home and I block off large date ranges. Don't hesitate to ask if a date you are looking for is available, even if it is blocked off. Thanks

Interaction with guests

I will not be present when you rent my home but can be contacted at any time to answer any questions you may have.

Other things to note

The water comes from the river and is filtered for sediment only. Our water is safe to drink and is not purified with chemicals. Here in Northern Canada we have tannin in the lakes and streams that gives it the slight tan colour.
Bears There is occasionally bears in the area. They are more afraid of us than we are of them. My philosophy is that bears have people problems. Garbage removal is important so as to not attract bears. I remove all smelly garbage daily into town.
Fish guts
I leave fish waste on shorelines away from peoples property. NEVER throw them IN the water. Eagles will clean them quickly

John's place is a very special spot, my partner and I couldn't recommend it more highly! The house exceeded our expectations - it has everything you could want, including a well equipped kitchen that we cooked in every day. The view is spectacular to wake up to and John is a pleasure to communicate with. We definitely plan to be back when we next get to Sioux Lookout. Thank you John, we have great memories of our time at Peaceful Waters Edge!

Peaceful, quiet home on the edge of a beautiful lake with loons, a fox, friendly grey jays and hungry fish off the dock. Hosts are wonderful, communicate well, and maintain the property is excellent order and immaculate cleanliness. I stayed for 2 weeks and can't wait for my next visit. Thanks again John!

Johns place is very comfortable and situated on a great lake for paddling and swimming. It was very quiet and enjoyable to listen to the loons call and watch the sunrise and set on either side of the lake

We enjoyed our stay at John's Cabin, the view of the river and distant landscape was picturesque and the cottage was well taken care of and clean. The master bedroom was a highlight with a very comfortable bed, a gas fireplace and also a view of the river which was very nice in the morning. The living room had a nice leather reclining couch with views of both the television and the interior of the log cabin which we enjoyed taking in during down-time. The TV was quite large w/ satellite television and the unit had fast Wi-Fi that worked our whole visit. John was very responsive to our questions and although not present at the actual cottage he had a caretaker available just up the driveway if we needed help.

I was born and raised in Sioux Lookout. I left to become a professional pilot and was away for most of my life. I was fortunate to have been able to travel around the world and meet so many interesting people along the way. I truly believe happiness is found along your journey an…
