The space

Newly restored to very high standards, our home is set in one acre of ancient majestic olive trees offering complete seclusion, tranquillity and privacy. Yet it is only 5 minutes walk down the hill to Lakka village's harbour with its excellent tavernas and beaches with crystal clear water. And 2 minutes to a free hotel swimming pool. Adriana’s interiors are decorated in a comfortable contemporary style, while preserving original features such as the olive wood lintels and stone window alcoves. Large shuttered windows and high ceilings give a luxurious atmosphere of spaciousness and light. Beyond the large terraces, paved walks through the gardens look out onto spectacular views of Lakka Bay with its famed turquoise waters and the open sea. Accommodation description:
Villa Adriana (Sleeps 4)
Bedroom 1 with large hand-made English double bed and large fitted wardrobe, dressing table.
Bedroom 2 with twin beds, can also be converted to a very comfortable king size bed without the usual irritating gap in the middle. Chests of drawers.
Both bedrooms have ceiling fans, good bedside reading lights, full-length mirrors. Views onto olive trees and flower gardens.
Bathroom: Luxury basin, bathroom cabinet, hairdryer, WC and large shower area looking onto oleanders and olive trees.
Kitchen: Luxury open-plan kitchen with long cream marble work tops. Electric stove, large oven, dishwasher, two fridges, electric kettle, cafetiere, toaster, lots of storage and fully equipped.
Living room: Beautifully furnished large open-plan living room with French windows and door opening, on both sides, onto two large terraces and olive groves. Large sofa. Armchairs. A modern oak dining table seats 8. Desk and well-stocked bookcase, ceiling fan from the very high ceiling. The floor is of polished traditional Corfiot stone. Other: Two very large terraces, one with built-in barbeque, other with shaded veranda area.

You arrive at the house via a small country road at the top end of the property. The house is in the middle of a one-acre olive grove, so it is unfortunately not suitable for wheel chair users. However, there are good stone paths in the garden, so there is no problem for guests who use a walking stick. From the Villa Adriana, it's a 5 minute walk down hill to Lakka village. The climb back takes a little longer, as it's quite steep. The house has its own private parking space in the grounds.
Guests in both the villa and studio have their own outside private dining areas with sun, shade and separate part of the garden. For guests of the Villa Adriana, stone paths and hand-crafted stone steps lead through the upper gardens to a pavilion where you watch the yachts come and go in Lakka harbour,or admire the sun set. There is also a parking space with steps leading through the olive groves to the house. Hammocks. The kitchen terrace of the villa (7x5m) has its own built-in barbecue complete with outdoor sink, sitting area and sun umbrella. The main villa terrace (8x8m) has a covered veranda with wicker sofa, two wicker arm chairs and sun loungers. The terraces have beautiful large Greek pots filled with bright coloured geraniums, plumbago's and hibiscus.
Important notes on accommodation
Good quality white cotton bed linen and hand and bath towels are included (not beach towels). Maid service twice weekly. Generous welcome pack. The villa and studio can be rented separately or together. Children are very welcome, but the garden is not really suitable for very adventurous toddlers as there are big differences in levels in the olive grove.

We loved everything about Villa Adriana & the beautiful island of Paxos. The house has been lovingly restored & is totally charming, both inside & out. There are lovely shaded terraces perfect for dining al fresco or soaking up the sun. The extensive garden is planted with aromatic herbs, sweet scented jasmine, geraniums, roses & vibrant bougainvillea. There were bunches of flowers from the garden in the house to welcome us on our arrival which was a very nice touch. The pavilion at the top of the garden is the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine & watch the sun set over the bay before wandering down the hill for dinner. Lots of great restaurants to choose from. Amazing seafood! The hill down to Lakka is quite steep & won't be for everyone, however car hire is inexpensive & will make it an effortless jaunt. Villa Adriana is a much loved family home which we have been lucky enough to share for a week. Tine was very generous with her time in telling us all about Paxos & Lakka prior to our holiday. We were very grateful to her for all her help in finding alternative transportation in getting to Paxos when our travel plans went pear shaped as a result of a ferry strike. Dora the house manager was there to meet us on arrival & was super helpful. Magda the cleaning lady is great. Both are very discreet but there if you need them. Paxos is totally unspoilt & perfect for a break away from it all. We all came back feeling rested & relaxed, but wishing we could stay for another week. Villa Adriana is definitely a place to come back to!

Response from Tine:
Dear Carol, Thank you for such a fantastic review. I am so glad that you all loved the house, the garden, the village and the whole of tiny Paxos, as much as we do. We hope you will come back to Villa Adriana very soon.
