Angels watch over the beautiful Talosa with its pale blue decorations and dark wood ceiling. The wide windows offer a stream of beautiful Tuscan light, and the large bathroom is decorated with the typical colors of the Valdorcia. The room is equipped with AC and the bathroom with a just renewed very confortable shower.

The space

At only one mile from the center of Montepulciano, on the top of a hill surrounded by tidy vineyards, this beautiful farmhouse will offer to you magical and romantic atmospheres.
Three suites with jacuzzi and two elegant double bedrooms, a suggestive swimming-pool and a luxuriant garden will plunge you into the tranquillity and the charm of the Tuscan countryside.
“Between Arts and Paridise”. This certainly is the most appropriate way to describe the location of our farmhouse.
In fact ORTAGLIA is casted towards the art of Montepulciano, with its roofs which show all the shades of garnet red, and the dome of San Biagio, third in the word for wideness and significance.
On the same time the hill where the farmhouse stands out is plunged into the tranquillity and the charm of the tuscan countryside, muse of famous artists and poets.
On the top of this hill, between art and paradise, in the middle of seventeen century have been laid the foundations of the ORTAGLIA farmhouse.
In these fifteen acres of Paradise together with our olive-trees, which give an intense and full bodied extra virgin olive oil, you will see thousands of smiling sunflowers greeting the sun rise of August.
If you also agree that BACCHUS is the best of the Gods of the Olympus, at the ORTAGLIA estate you will find a very well furnished wine-cellar for the joy of your palates. Discover the culture of our beutiful Country towards the thousands flavours of the italian oenology.

Francesca and Nicola are amazing hosts! They truly go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need to have a great trip. The breakfast is great, their tips on sightseeing and wineries is spot-on and I wished I had emailed Nicola prior to us planning our entire Italy trip, as he should probably have been our impromptu travel agent. This is a true "agriturismo" with only a few rooms, so it doesn't feel crowded or too touristy. It's close enough to drive to Montepulciano in 5-10 minutes, but far enough away to enjoy the countryside and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I would stay here again and definitely wish we there for longer. (FYI -- it's an agriturismo, so expect crowing roosters in the morning, some bugs, and a whole lot of wine, love and delicious food!)

Couldn't be a more perfect setting for a Tuscan holiday! Terenzio and Mara were gracious, wonderful hosts, who gave us comprehensive recommendations for day trips, restaurants, favorite routes with the historical and scenic details far beyond what any guide book can give you. We LOVED our time at Relais Ortaglia and strongly recommend it to anyone wishing to explore and/or relax in a gorgeous setting overlooking lovely gardens, vineyards, olive groves, with Montepulciano just at the top of the hill in the background. We will definitely be back! Fresh plums from their trees, delicious varied spread for breakfast each morning... we found it to be the perfect way to experience a very special part of Tuscany. With Terenzio's guidance, we explored the area and surrounding towns and enjoyed it all!
