Along with my wife and two children (one big, one small), we spent a week at Eamonn & Regina's place in Newport. It was perfectly clean, well-enough provisioned (hooray for sharp kitchen knives!), and very functional. It is neither spacious nor luxurious, nor is it trying to be, so light and comfortable in line with expectations. Well located in terms of being close to Newport, a small town with a number of good cafes/pubs/restaurants; and Newport is well located to explore the region. Don't miss Achill Island (especially the trip around its southern coast to Dooega) or Ballycrory National Park. Both really beautiful. The exact setting of the place is plain, but it is a 5-minute walk to town and there are really lovely views over the water and sunset just 200 meters down the road. For a breath of forest air, don't miss the small hidden park in the forest above Quay Road. All in all, a lovely place with excellent value for money, even if we did not get a chance to use our sunscreen.

We loved staying here. It was a great location to travel around the West of Ireland.

Spotless, comfortable and within 2./3 minutes walk of the village. Regina had some milk ,butter and brown bread left for us which was great. Thank you!

This is a great cottage with plenty of space. Our kids loved their bedroom with the spacious bunk beds. Check in was easy and Regina popped in to see that we were ok. They also left us milk and butter and bread. The cottage has everything you need and more and was extremely clean. We did have an ongoing issue with wifi which greatly affected our stay as we were without internet access for most of the time.

Response from Eamonn & Regina:
HI Sarah, Thanks for your review it was great to have you and your family to stay. We are having local issues with wifi and I can only apologise for the problems that you encountered. We have arranged a new service from a new supplier so that we can still offer wifi at the cottage. Thanks again, Regina

We have enjoyed three nights here and found the cottage to be exactly as described. The directions to the cottage were accurate. There was a major cycle race arriving in Newport the day we arrived with traffic restrictions. Regina messaged us to let us know that they wouldn't affect us in finding the cottage. We had an issue with the wifi; Regina was around promptly to sort the problem and we enjoyed having an extended chat with her. She gave us information on local shops and pubs in the village too, as well as things to do in the area. There was milk in the fridge as well as a fruitcake, which was much appreciated. All up a most comfortable stay and we would be happy to recommend to couples, or a family. There's plenty of space to relax.
