Carlo's apt was really spacious and Carlo's apt is very spacious and the views from our terrace were lovely. Having 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for a family of 4 was ideal! We chose the apartment because of the terrace, proximity to the swimming pool and owner's pizza oven. We were not disappointed, although would love to return when they install heating for the pool, despite the hot sun it was freezing...but most guests braved it and it didn't spoil the fun. Carlo is a great host and their Pizza night was a good way to meet other guests and have fun.

Just returned from a beautiful holiday spent at Tripala. We stayed in La Piana Apartment for 4, which was much larger than anticipated. The terrace was also large, complete with lots of outdoor furniture & an absolutely stunning view of the mountains. The scenery is breathtaking and we relaxed immediately, spending many days enjoying the pool. We attended both the Apertivo & Pizza evenings and can highly recommend both. It was a great way to make new friends & enjoy all the local produce that Garfagnana has to offer. However, by far the highlight of the trip was Carlo & Silvia, themselves. They are truly wonderful hosts - warm, generous, with a real love of what they do. Carlo is an amazing cook & Silvia was full of really helpful information on where to go & what to do. We were sad to say goodbye and 9 nights simply just wasn't enough!!

Carlo and Silvia are wonderful friendly hosts who will make you feel very welcome. They provided excellent directions and a warm welcome. On the first night we were invited to join them for some food and also had a great pizza evening later in the week. The Piana Tripala was very comfortable with brilliant views of the Apuane mountains and the whole place is very relaxing. The pool is beautifully positioned and a refreshing but not too cool in temperature in the great weather. We would strongly recommend a relaxing stay here; it is a great quiet spot away from the crowds but still easy to reach the Cinque Terre, Lucca, the mountains for walking and lots of interesting caves, castles and picturesque villages.

We had a briliant holiday. Carlo is a great host, very welcoming and an excellent source of information about the area. The scenery is stunning - even better than the photo - and there are great opportunities for wildlife-spotting and walking. We enjoyed some excellent food, and used the pool every day. The area is off the beaten track but this was part of its appeal for us.

We had a fantastic week at Tripala!! The apartment and pool are situated in beautiful surroundings, very quiet and in the middle of fruit and olive trees. Carlo and Silvia are fantastic hosts. They welcomed us with a magnificent homemade pasta and are extremely helpful. The apartment was spacious, clean and has a beautiful view over the valley.

The views from the apartement building are amazing. It's a great and quiet spot to discover the surroundings, and Carlo and Sylvia are very helpful and attentive. Taking the train to Lucca and Pisa made us enjoy the beautiful landscape even more. We originally rented the terrace apartment, which unfortunately had a problem with the heating (surely necessary during the six days we spent there in the beginning of May). Fortunately there were no other guests, so we were moved down to another apartment. This apartement (est) was fine, and the pictures clearly map upon reality. It's basic, but everything is there (full kitchen, two bedrooms, nice veranda). The bed was really good and comfortable.

Carlo and Silvia were delightful hosts, welcoming us into their home for dinner and lively conversation. The apartment was spacious, and our children appreciated the sprawling yard and terrace. We spent one day visiting a national park, about an hour away, and a second day visiting a cave and nearby villages, also about an hour away by car. Other trips, which we did not have time for, would include Lucca and Cinque Terre -- a good distance from the farm, but apparently well worth the time. An ideal destination for travelers keen on exploring this remote, beautiful corner of Tuscany.
