The space
The guest bedrooms each have a queen bed, dresser and lots of closet space. One bedroom has a very firm mattress and easier to step in and out of. The other room has a firm mattress but with a pillow top mattress on top. It's higher off the floor. We usually give you a choice based on your preference unless we had back to back guests and we were out of town. In that situation, the bedroom that wasn't used would only be available. We try really hard though to always give you a choice of two, I just can't guarantee it because life happens. The full bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and is yours while you are here. We do not use it while AirBNB guests are here. We provide 2 robes as we want you to be comfortable walking from your room into the adjacent bathroom. If you want to rent the other room as well, you need to let me know.
We have a great outdoor space to view the monument while relaxing or enjoying a meal. There's speakers out there and you are welcome to put on some music to listen while you enjoy the view. We have a hot tub on the back patio. We keep it colder in the summer months but you are welcome to turn it up. If I'm not around you can always text me for directions how to use and I will try me best to answer back. We have a small workout room in the garage with a full set of weights and a few benches, yoga mats and fitness balls. We have space for your bikes in a backyard shed. We do have a townie bike you can borrow and one of my older mountain bikes you can use. If you think you might want to use one of these, let me know so that I may make sure I haven't highjacked any of the parts recently.
I am very proud of my kitchen and all my kitchen tools. I love sharing my kitchen and am very comfortable with other people cooking in my kitchen. As long as you clean up after yourself, please use the kitchen. We do ask that you be diligent if you cook animal products in our kitchen as we are plant based. Because we don't cook at high temps, cross contamination is something we have to worry about. We have two sinks and one is designated as fruits and veggies only. We ask that you clean and sanitize any of the surfaces, pots, knives and cutting boards you use for animal products. I have lots of spices that you can use. Except the saffron. If you know what saffron is, you understand why.
We adopted and adorable dog during COVID. He seemed quiet and mellow but we weren't accepting guests due to COVID. We have now realized he's a bit territorial and slightly frightened when meeting others. We are working on socializing him and have found he does warm up to people, we just haven't figured out the terms of his acceptance yet. So, we can't guarantee he won't bark. He can be quite cute, funny and loving, but he can also be a bully in a small package. We do have a crate in our room to keep him in if for some reason he doesn't let you see how sweet he is during your stay. If you are uncomfortable with small dogs, our home will not work for you right now.

Guest access
Guest have access to a well equipped Kitchen with double ovens, roomy fridge, professional knifes, and lots of room to cook. The hostess is a certified Nutritional Therapy Chef and will share spices and cooking equipment that includes a Dehydrator, Food Processor, Juicer and Vitamix. Guests are welcomed anywhere in the house except the master bedroom, that would be weird, right? As well, the back patio has a table, chairs and overhead fan for quests to enjoy relaxing views of the monument. We recently installed a hot tub in the back yard and guests are welcome to use that as well. Please ask for directions how to operate.

Other things to note
We did just adopt a small dog. He has not had much exposure to guests in our home yet. We are working on socializing him and aren't quite sure if he'll be as cute, funny and sweet for our guests as he is for us. We adopted him during COVID and didn't realize he would behave differently around others since we were socially distancing at the time. We have since found out that he doesn't warm up to others quite the same. We have hope though as he did warm up to family after a few hours, lots of treats and bribes.

I have a lot of side hustles. Wellness coach, plant based chef, ski instructor, mountain bike coach, fitness instructor, Zumba teacher, country dance instructor. As well, I work for the airlines and we travel quite a bit (PreCOVID). We lived in a Colorado ski resort area for 30 years and can give you lots of tips for your Colorado adventures. My husband and I mountain bike, hike, play tennis, pickel ball, ski, partner dance, canyoneer and rock climb a little. Moving from one of the most beautiful Colorado mountain resort towns to Grand Junction, we are amazed by the natural beauty and the outdoor activities this little city has to offer.

During your stay
We are usually very friendly and we love conversing with our guests. With that said, sometimes I am overworked and I might not be around much. Lane, my husband, is now retired and around more often. We believe we are accepting of all, and love sharing information and outdoor activity. I tend to be a pain in the butt if I think you aren't enjoying all the area has to offer. My apologies ahead of time. We are both very active, mountain biking, road biking, tennis, pickleball, canyoneering, climbing and skiing. We will happily give you tips on the best hikes, bikes, and routes if asked. At times we are both very busy and you might not see us at all. We were typically not around much before COVID19, but are currently around a lot. We are very comfortable with guests in our home and hope you will feel like you can enjoy the entire house whether we are around or not.
