Escape to beautiful Northland and relax in our lovely Orchard Cottage. Set on 30 acres of native bush, this character one bedroom self-catering cottage is light, airy, and comfortable with lots of unique details.

The cottage also offers the ultimate in relaxation with the recent addition of two side-by-side outdoor baths. Wind down with a hot soak at the end of your day this private space is exclusively yours to enjoy. Add a basket of local provisions and discover local treasures.

The space
The Orchard Cottage is a lovely little retreat. With a French Country / 'Shabby Chic' feel, the style is relaxed while never compromising on comfort. Quality 100% cotton linen, a spacious bathroom with a bath, cotton towels and shower. An open living space with a cushion-filled French style day bed (trundler provides two extra single beds), lots of holiday reading and a kitchenette with everything you need for preparing light meals.

There is plenty of parking space directly in front of the cottage and the driveway is kept clear for you to come and go as you please.

Enjoy a bushwalk on the property down the valley to a lovely rocky bottom stream and swimming holes. Pick fruit from the little orchard when in season. Treat yourself to a hot soak in the outdoor baths, relax on the private veranda with a Weber BBQ, outdoor heating and dining table. Adventure further and enjoy some of the many attractions of this beautiful region. Tramping, caving, fishing, diving and many more natural delights are all within a short distance of the cottage. Also, close by is plenty of shopping, arts, museums and eateries.

The cottage is set amongst 30 acres of regenerating native New Zealand bush. It's located on Mt Tiger, a beautiful elevated space with expansive views across a large native bush reserve. Your hosts live near by on the property but the Orchard Cottage enjoys it's own access, privacy and surrounds. The neighbourhood is rural and quiet with the occasional clucking of happy hens next door and the odd cow in the distance

We're a tight family of 3, myself (Justine) and Joe, parents of Holly Lane. Two furry friends complete our little clan, Lilly the small grey cat and young Benson the clever Border Collie cross. We've recently moved to beautiful Northland, NZ from a more city life in Wellington. We've travelled to many places around the world and are now embracing the treasures right in our own back yard. We're passionate foodies, excitedly discovering delicious local artisan products and like to pass on our favourite finds to our guests. Your stay at the Orchard Cottage will be a lovely retreat, set amongst acres of native bush reserve. We'll be on hand for any questions or assistance required and provide lots of recommendations for fantastic local adventures. Apart from this though, the escape is yours so you will be left to enjoy it as you choose. We hope you have a wonderful stay and we're sure you'll agree that some of the most glorious treasures are often waiting for us, just down the road...
