This is one of listings in the Kyoto Traditional House. I have five rooms. It is a loft. The space is small and you can't stand by the window but it is enough space for resting only. My house is made of wood and thin wooden wall, too. We can't set an air conditioner in this room because the roof is died. Don't make reservation if you don't understand home-staying. My old mom and I live in the same house. We are not a hotel.

Riko is a very kind host! The breakfast was good and she also gave me some delicious Korean Food for free! Although the room is small and you can't stand inside, I really liked it! It's very comfy and silent - I enjoyed resting there! I can definitely recommend this place !

Riko's place is a charming wooden traditional Japanese house that offers a really interesting living experience. Fortunately, as it is really old, Riko decided to renovate the house with attention the the details that makes it so special. The location is also amazing, close to transportation facilities. The host is so helpful and nice, just as her mother. You can rent bikes for a really convenient price from her in order to see the surroundings of amazing Kyoto. Do not expect luxury, but expect an memorable experience in a traditional house. I recommend this place.

This is a small room in the 2nd floor of Riko's house. It is fairly basic, but everything necessary was provided. Riko was very friendly and was able to help me out and answer any questions I had.

It's a very traditional Japanese house. It's worth a try. Probably the experience already pays itself. There isn't a lot of space just like the photos showed, so u should know what to expect. Actually if you just want a bed to sleep, you should be just fine. It does have the necessary facilities. The host Riko treated me and other guests a sushi party before bringing us to a shrine nearby to pray. There were another three local Japanese people who also joined us so it was a great opportunity to actually interact with some local residents. I also followed the procedure to actually pray in the shrine, just like how Japanese people would do. Anyway, if you want to save some money and have some real traditional Japanese house experience, this is a good choice.

A small room, perhaps best for one person. You can experience traditional Japanese way of sleeping. Overall, its a nice place to stay if not too hot or too cold.

I am friendly, out going person. I love making new friends all over the world. I have my own cafe and standing bar in the same yard. You can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner ( except Sunday and national holiday ) We sometimes have a sushi or shabu-shabu party. You can enjoy Japanese sake made in Kyoto as well.
