Handbook and House rules
Wi-Fi: I have metered Wi-Fi and provide Wi-Fi units for the guests for prepaid Wi-Fi and you can top up as much as what you want. Kitchenette: The shared kitchenette has most of the basics. If you need anything else, just tell me, I most likely can provide; my kitchen is fully stocked. Parking: We have plenty parking inside the property. Pool: The pool is fed by rainwater and covered in winter. The Weather and rainfall: South Africa is very dry and the weather rules our lives. Water restrictions and empty dams are a fact of life. Please help us conserve water. The Animals: There are dogs, cats, chickens around and in the bush behind all sorts of critters, even bush babies. This is Africa, in Spring and Summer we have frogs, which I catch and relocate, and they make an almighty noise.

I had a great stay at Stephanie's. Her house is in a beautiful area, with neat rooms and lots of animal love. I was wined and dined on my arrival. I highly recommend anybody to stay at Stephanie's.

Staying at Stephanie's isn't just about accommodation, it's about an amazing experience. From the magical home filled with books, art, and gorgeousness, to the wine that was shared at 11pm when I got there, exhausted, and Stephanie was waiting for me... to the sweet little delicious morsels she stacked in the kitchen on days I didn't go out, to showing me her hometown, making suggestions, and making me part of her celebrations by introducing me to friends, and inviting me for a lovely Christmas brunch, and new year festivities! No one should be alone for Christmas, she told me. What I loved, and really appreciated too, is that the camaraderie is balanced with a healthy respect and support for privacy, should you need. The wine, and the chats never ran out! Cultured, well travelled and extremely well read, Stephanie is an encyclopedia of fascinating knowledge and information. Her beautiful Japanese Chins add so much warmth and love to the home, as do the cats (i was adopted by Twinkles!), and the beautiful nature, serenity & surroundings made her place feel like a second home to me. I went there as a stranger, and truly left as family. Love you Stephanie! PS: Don't miss the amazing fish & chips just down the hill @ Toni's, and delicious coffee at Grounded

Had a lovely time at Stephanie's place. She's such a warm and welcoming lady with lots of interesting stories to tell and a lot of good tolips and information about the area. There's a looot of cute little dogs which are adorable and the house and garden are a little paradise. Thanks for being such a great host!

I truly enjoyed my stay here and made a new friend in the process ( Stefanie). Christina, who assists in running the household, does a superb job.

Stephanie is the warmest host I have ever had. She truly cares for her guests, and if you have any question or problems she does not hesitate to pull the rabbit out of the hat to solve the problem. :) She also has some wonderful dogs and cats. It is such a friendly and welcoming house and I felt truly at home here.

Really enjoyable. Stephanie is a full attentions hostess. great view, very good WIFI, very nice rooms. Many dogs but very nice (you must like animals). You can ask whatever you want. I was there as if I was in my family. We even organized a BBQ party with friends of Stephanie and friends of mine. And we when together discover the restaurants of Dullstrom one sunday. Stephanie also gives very good advice about Pretoria, shopping, what to see or to do. I made a new friend.

I had a great experience at Stephanie's! I stayed here for a month, I had a lovely bright room with my own large bathroom. Stephanie is very kind and accommodating and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. She is in a very nice, quieter part of Pretoria, within walking distance restaurants, a coffee shop, and a grocery store It was more than I was expecting from my stay. Also there is wifi! I highly recommend staying here. To stay here you probably need to like animals, she has a lot!

I live on a hill north of the Pretoria city centre and love to share my lovely home with visitors.
I have travelled extensively all over the world, North and South America, Western and Eastern Europe, Australia, Israel, Turkey, Iran, India, Kazakhstan, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
I know South Africa very well, and I love it, so I can assist guests with questions and advice.
What place in the world do I like best? Istanbul, Iran, Venice, Prague, South Africa?.. It's difficult to decide.
I worked in IT all my life and now I dabble in Real Estate, the Japanese Chin breeding program, art and what not. It is wonderful to live in this friendly house and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to experience it fully.
The unique Japanese Chins that I breed are a delight; I try to keep them away from the guests, but they are joyful and friendly little souls, so loving animals is a prerequisite for staying here. It is up to you whether you want to see them.
The house and garden adjoins a large open bush area behind. There are bush babies and various other wild animals in the bush, such that I have to lock up my chickens at night.
The garden is large with ponds with fish, and rather noisy toads in summer; I am sometimes forced to relocate the toads to a nearby river.
I have designed an indigenous garden with elements of organic gardening, succulents and Hugelkultur beds, as it is so hot and dry.
I recycle and have compost heaps, which means the property is a bit like a smallholding, NOT a hotel where everything is pristine.
I hope my guests want to experience this piece of Africa that I treasure!
