The apartment is close to shopping centers and one block to a ringroad.
Located 10 blocks far away of zocalo, if you don't like walk too much then this could be important for you.

small but functional and clean apt. close you will find: culture museum (casa de la cultura), chedraui shopping center, downtown and Sto. domingo 15-20 minutes walking and a easy access to transportation, one block away there is a ringroad (periferico) where you can move to many cultural and archeological places in the city or even the state.

Kitchen, refrigerator, stove, cookwares. Private bathroom (hot water) Bedroom, double bed, cable tv, wireless internet

low interaction, we offer confidence and discretion, sometimes there are airbnb guests in the second floor, but they have his own acces to the street.

This is a typical area of the city where you get a real experience of life in Oaxaca. It is not expected to be pretty like the tourist areas, but the apartment itself is comfortable, around the house you'll find inexpensive and good neighborhood eateries and small shops (tienditas).
The apartment is 15-20 minutes walking distance to Zocalo, "zocalo" is located 10 blocks far, coming from downtown the last four blocks, almost you don't see any tourist, the advantage is that you avoid noise of bars, discotheques and fireworks during nights
We think this is a safe area but some blocks around the apartment could be dark when the night arrive cause of some public bulb light doesn't work but some people like us have lamps outside of his homes.
In general the house is quiet, and you avoid downtown noise of traffic and fireworks (very common around churchs).
2 or 3 blocks around you can find transportation, markets, supermarkets and small shops (tienditas) and two blocks far of the apartment natives of small towns around the city, came to sell products like tortillas, food, tamales etc. (around 3-6 pm.)in the corner of "emiliano zapata" and "colon".
The neighborhood is quiet with less traffic in the streets closest to the center, nearby you can find small restaurants, bars and shopping centers like chedraui (maybe the most bigger of the city) and pitico. at the next block (guerrero) you can find delicious "tlayudas"
We recommend "la merced" market (every day) and "tianguis 5 señores" every saturday in order to buy fresh vegetables, meat, fish, food and lacteal products.
I made a map of the neighborhood that I can share with you once you make the book reservation (airbnb doesn't let share links before you confirm the reservation)

Keep in mind this about the neighborhood: "not expected to be pretty like the tourist areas" and "we consider this is a safe area but surroundings could be a little dark during nights"

Located 10 blocks far away of zocalo, if you don't like walk too much then this could be important for you.

One block and half you could take many Bus, they move to many places around the city. you could move with taxi or there are colectivos (that maroon taxis), crossing "periferico" (two blocks from the apartment) you can take this colectivos and buses.
A taxi could charge $(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) pesos from zocalo or there is a bus that you can take at 2 blocks away of the apartment, the bus price is $6.00 pesos.
two blocks far of periferico there is "Avenida ferrocarril" this road goes to many tourist place like "mitla", "el tule", "tlacolula" and the "arena cisneros" lucha libre! (wrestling)

The neighborhood doesn't have a high added value, but you have easy access to transportation that move to ruins, downtown and other tourists places.
I don't speak english very well, but I able to write/read better.
Located 10 blocks far away of zocalo, if you don't like walk too much then this could be important for you.

This ground floor apartment is good value for the money. It was in a working class Mexican neighbourhood. It was about a 20 minute walk to the zocalo. Ezequiel and his mother were responsive to the small issues that we had. The apartment has most things that you would need al…

Ezequiel's place was a great stay for me and my friend. Although we didn't see Ezequiel, (I believe he is busy with work), his mother Señora Nora was very attentive with us. Very friendly and responsive. Any small problem we encountered she was quick to attend to us and we were v…

I stayed here for four days and really enjoyed my stay. Even before getting there, Ezequiel was very open to communication, whether it was recommending places to go, telling me everything was ready for the day of the trip, or asking me if I needed anything once I was there…

Clean, cozy places 20 minutes by walk from downtown. Ezequiel and his mum were very helpful and reachable at all times. Great stay, highly recommended.

We initially booked for one week, but ended up staying for a two: We stayed for 2 weeks in the ground floor apartment and loved our time there. It's very spacious and has all you need in the kitchen. It's a quiet location on the edge of town, with a supermarket round the corn…
