Sophie's apartment is fab, and she has very successfully blended beautiful pieces of old furniture with modern art and decor. It's a few minutes drive from the centre of Florac - very peaceful, lovely garden to sit in, complete with hammock, and a few minutes walk down to the river.

Response from Sophie:
Thank you so much for your kind message... and of course for the alert about the shower. Chemical attack in progress!

Sophie was very good in following up and sorting out a couple of issues. She was genuinely concerned to make sure everything was ok.

My husband, 9 month old son and I stayed in the Maison de Maitre at Sophie's beautiful home in Florac for one week in early April. Sophie and her family were very warm and accommodating. Anything we needed was never too much trouble, including changing the entire bed to a more comfortable one from another room!! The apartment had everything we needed for the week with a baby, including plenty of hot water, washing machine and travel cot. We did miss the convenience of a microwave and having a comfy couch to sit on during our evenings in though. If you're traveling with a baby and they're a light sleeper, the squeaky floor boards might be an issue, but our little one was fine. The house is in such a picturesque and serene setting, surrounded by hills and fields and only a short stroll to a private river beach. Being early April it was only the start of the shoulder season so a lot of local businesses were still closed, but we still managed to squeeze plenty in. Our favourites included trips to Aven Armand, Sainte Enimie and the top of Mont Aigoual. Having grown up there, Sophie is very knowledgeable about the whole area, so do pick her brain for things to see and do. We'd definitely recommend staying with Sophie if you're in the area!

Sophie and her maison des maître were wonderful! She was super friendly and flexible in time. The maison and the view on the Causses Mejean were breath-taking. Our flat was beautifully furnished, a lovely mix of old and new. The location of Florac is perfect for any kind of outdoor activity, you need a car though. The little streets across the mountains are an adventure! The highlight on top was the private beach at the Tarn river, where you could easily and privately sunbathe and swim. We want definitely to come back, it was such a wonderful stay.

Wonderful house set in front of a hay field with views of the majestic valley in front of you. Almost feels like you are living in an oil painting. Sophie is fabulous too, very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for a great trip. Thanks!

Great place to stay in a beautiful part of the world. Sophie was very helpful with directions and information before our arrival, and the apartment is really spacious with lots of character. Would definitely visit again.
