Roof-top studio sleeps 2, conveniently located for exploring the natural beauty of Lantau, surrounding islands, beaches and the city

The space

Bright rooftop conservatory with terrace and outdoor seating makes a perfect relaxing setting in fine weather. In heavy rain there is some noise from the aluminum insulated roof but the structure is sturdy. Hong Kong has typhoons in late summer. If typhoon signal 8 or higher is hoisted, this accommodation will be closed. Any reservations will be refunded in full including your commission paid to BnB. There is no kitchen in this property but there is a fridge, electric kettle and microwave. The space sleeps 3

We loved our stay here, great location on the rooftop, cozy but plenty of room for our portacot and luggage. Clean, good air con and nice touches around the house. Angela and her husband were super accommodating helping us arrange transport to the airport. We enjoyed the area too, very laid back and nice Chinese food at the markets nearby.

We needed a daytime stopover place. We got the date wrong with time differences. We didn't claim any refund because it was our fault. We arrived at the house tired and jet lagged. No phone contact had been provided and Angela was out. Her husband was entirely unhelpful and told us to come back in an hour when she would be home. We walked to find a coffee and instead got tips from locals. 1 that there was a good cheap hotel within 3 minutes walk. 2 that Angela and her husband were to be avoided. We got two rooms for the day (four adults, one infant and one baby). Amazing, comfortable, friendly, helpful and cheap. Right on the beach. rooms for $160 NZ for both. The airport resting rooms would have been triple that.

This is a pretty well perfect location if you're staying more than a couple of days in Hong Kong: close (5 min walk) to the ferry terminal (40 min to Central by frequent Fast Ferry) without being too busy/noisy, in the heart of the village itself rather than the tourist/apartment area. A few steps away from Silvermine Beach, next door to the market. The rooftop is a modest but spacious room with a good (hot and strong) shower, and a really big outdoor area which is well-sheltered. It's up a steep flight of stairs, so not suitable if you aren't able, but otherwise it's a perfect spot for a traveller who wants privacy, space and comfort without frills. Good aircon and wifi. Hosts are responsive and available, but do not intrude. The area is safe for walking around, with hiking trails (loop walk back to Mui Wo via waterfalls, silvermine caves, villages and temples, as well as the Olympic trail) leading from the end of the street. No working desk, but the local pub has space, efficient wifi (free Maccas bleed from next door) and decent food - as good for working as relaxing. Highly recommended for independent travellers.

Angela is very helpful and she is very reactive in each of the demand. She went to pick me up near the Ferry Pier. The bedroom is simple but you have everything needed including a good bed. The downside is that I hardly slept due to the wind. Insulation is not good enough and on a windy night you hear the wind and the noise generated by the wind all night. The internet is pretty weak but it was not surprise as Angela told me that her internet had some issues due to the last typhoon.

Great apartment in beautiful Mui Wo. Great Airbnb host, she even helped us carry our bags. Took the blue taxi from HKG airport and texted her while on the airport wifi to tell her we were leaving and she was waiting for us in front of the Mui Wo market. (175 HKD each way for taxi) Starbucks, the beach and great hiking trails are all close to her place. And the First Ferry is only 5-10 minute walk from her place which will take you straight to Central Hong Kong. (Fast ferry only 35 min ferry ride to central) Very easy. We would stay at her place again! For good grubs - eat at Deer Horn or China Bear near the ferry. Definitely coming back to Mui Wo and Angela's apartment. (Btw Starbucks opens at 8am and you need cash for taxis)
