My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. We found the transportation very accessible. the bed was comfortable and the environment lovely. There is a great bakery on Queen Street that has delicious Indian lunches at a very reasonable price. The bakery goods are fresh and delicious. The house is located on a quiet street. There are some historic things close by on Queen, and a small market for quick shopping.

When we booked this rental, we thought we were staying in a house with Hannah, a 30-year-old like-minded professional. When we arrived, we found out that Hannah and her husband moved out a few months ago and we were staying with her mother, Heidi, and Hannah's brother. Heidi has random members of her family and strangers passing through often, making it hard to discern whether or not they are welcome in the house or a threat. Any advance notice of this would have been great as we were often the only ones in the house. We were only ever told if the cleaning lady was coming. Heidi is not a fan of planning and would sometimes stay out days longer at her family cottage, leaving us with no one in the home to handle any emergencies. When we DID have an emergency (the other airbnb guest was locked out at 1am), the guest had to come to US to call Hannah, for whom we felt awful calling as she was going in and out of the hospital at the time. Heidi also decided to do her laundry an hour before she left for her family's cottage, making it our responsibility to hang up her laundry. She also used our eggs without asking to make crepes for the OTHER guests - not even asking us the day before or that morning if we would like to join. And while she replaced the eggs, she just assumed that it was fine to take them and she would replace them before we got up. Turns out, that we had planned to make breakfast two hours before she got back and she made crepes for us in apology, which we of course couldn't turn down. She also decided to add on to that apology by offering to teach us how to make cherry perogies, which we were supposed to pick a mutual available night to do so. She surprised us with this activity after a long day of sightseeing, without asking us if we were available or too tired. Instead we got "there you are, finally!" Furthermore, she walked out WHILE making the meal to walk the dog, only to come back and say we cooked the cherries too long and to do it AGAIN. No one is necessarily a bad person, and the house was safe, quiet, and in a great location, but there was a lack of information on the profile that didn't let us know of the boarding situation and a lack of follow-through during the stay. The lack of communication and respect for our schedules stayed consistent during the three ways of our stay, which was unfortunate.

Response from Hannah:
I just want to thank these guests for coming to stay with us. Having them both has been a most hilarious hosting experience from my 5 years of doing this. Who could have known that borrowing a single egg could lead to a two hour discussion of “breakfast sabotage” or that being asked to hang two pillow cases would cause traumatic memories lasting up until now. I wish I could have even imagined that my 12-year-old niece who lives next door or my mom’s senior friends would be perceived as a threat - I might have been able to mitigate some of the fear. I regret that they misunderstood the profile (which indicated that there were multiple hostesses and multiple bedrooms) to mean that only one person would be living in the house. It’s a shame that they understood private room to mean private house, (I suppose that’s why they felt entitled to walk around in in their underwear?) We were surprised to receive demands for silence in shared spaces of the house and when my mom left for the cottage to get out of their way, it was STILL the wrong thing to do. While on the one hand they seem to have felt responsible for the house on the other hand they left the empty house with an unlocked door upon their departure instead of dropping the keys through the door's mail slot like I had requested. I have never, in my life, met people so hard done by free gourmet crepes and cherry perogies. One can only laugh at the absurdity! They might have saved great discomfort on both sides by taking the refund offered to them should they leave. It’s too bad but they have furnished us with some very humorous stories we shan't forget. So thank you!

It was a great time spend with Heidi and good conversation with Hannah. Their house is just the perfect in all aspects connectivity with downtown (just 10 min) and subway station, restaurants and grocery stores are just walk able and above all the homely environment still you have your privacy. I will recommend 10/10. Thanks, wish to keep in touch.

I recommend this accommodation without any doubt. It is well located (20 min walking from Downtown and you have the public transport around the corner). The room is clean, big and you have all the things you need. Hannah, Said and Heidi are so friendly. They always try to help you in all. The little dog is so cute. I have enjoyed a lot during the 3 months that I have been there. I hope repeat in the future. Thank you for all!

Very nice people, the neighbourhood is great. Many really cool restaurants and bars litterally around the corner. Yet, the place is quiet and cozy for a good night's sleep. Very welcoming and helpful people. They shared cake and answered my numerous questions about the city and the neighbourhood. Would recommend 10/10.
