We had a great time staying in the yurt. The hosts provided a camp bed and so that a fifth person could squeeze in. With our dog there too, it was very cosy. The only negative aspect was that guests from the 3 yurts must share a single bathroom, but additional toilet facilities are promised soon. By bringing folding chairs and a camping table it is possible to enjoy an open air barbecue next to the yurt. Otherwise a kitchen is available and your can eat your own food (or a takeaway) in the dining room

Response from Barnutopia:
Thank you. We're glad you enjoyed yourselves. I think we had a total of 10 adults and quite a few children during the few days you were here. That is unusual and put a strain on the bathroom. The main issue is that when someone is using the shower, no-one can use the toilet. If the toilet was separate there would be no problem. We solved it for the moment by simply opening up our family bathroom if there are folks waiting. This has worked well during peak bathroom traffic periods. Plus, as you mentioned, we are adding another wash-room with toilet very soon. The new toilet and hand basin have been purchased and is sitting in one of our stables. The construction is on our list right after the composters (no connection!), which are in progress.

Having never stayed in a yurt before, we weren't entirely sure what to expect, but the stay was amazing! Located in the countryside with sprawling grassy hills, the views from the farm are spectacular. The yurt itself was very clean and contained everything we needed, including some plug sockets for charging phones etc. The breakfast and evening meals provided are wholesome and tasty, setting us up for our hike of Snowdon! Bathroom with a decent shower is located in the main house along with a room to the use of the internet on a laptop etc as the WiFi doesn't quite stretch to the yurt we were in. Overall, a brilliant stay. Clean, friendly and accommodating, we would certainly recommend!

Barnutopia is the home of Steve and Katrina Boydon. After living abroad in Russia, France and United States for 20+ years, they returned home to set up a yurt campsite. Easy going and friendly, they love to welcome guests to their beautiful farm in rural Shropshire on the North Wales - England border.
