This is a bright, tastefully decorated, private annex with self catering facilities. The living area is well planned to make use of the space; there is a two ring hob and a convection oven, a fridge freezer, breakfast bar and spacious, comfortable sofa with large flat screen TV. The bedroom has a comfy king size bed and plenty of storage with en-suite bathroom and powerful shower over the bath. Private, enclosed area catches evening sun. A lovely 10-15 minute walk into Lyme along the river.
An easy walk to Lyme and the beach and a short drive to River Cottage, this bright and airy annex has everything you need to enjoy this beautiful area. You have your own access and very private, sunny outside space. Our house is attached to the annex and so I'm generally on hand if you need anything but I also appreciate the need for privacy. You will probably hear some family sounds particularly when we are in the kitchen, which joins the annex by a single locked door, and one bedroom partly above the annex lounge. This doesn't seem to be disruptive and we try to be considerate. This space is very comfortable for two people and has been known to fit a travel cot in the bedroom. I am happy to accommodate young children either in the same bed or using your own travel beds.
There is a large wooden gate and solid fencing around a small, pretty courtyard with decking and table and chairs. You enter the annex through your own private doorway. I will provide a key code to enable you to retrieve the key and gain access. This means you can come and go as you like. There is plenty of free, easy on-street parking right outside.
Interaction with guests
Myself and my two children live in the main house which is attached to the annex via a locked door. I am often at work during the day but I shouldn't be far away should you need anything. I try to introduce myself soon after you arrive and check that you have everything you need but then I tend to leave you to enjoy your break and privacy.
Other things to note
Please note that the annex is attached to a family house and there will be some noise especially from our kitchen and a bedroom above the lounge. We have accommodated many guests over the years and to my knowledge this has never been disruptive. We will be respectful of your stay.
I provide bedding, towels and toiletries. I also provide a selection of detailed walks and maps of the area.
Strictly no smoking.
Hi - I'm Sara. I'm passionate about where I live, it's a beautiful part of the world and I love introducing this wonderful area to others! I am a keen walker and runner and I have provided plenty of maps and walking guides. I am in the process of writing up my own walks that you can do from the front door - a work in progress but a joy to research.
I work part time as a counsellor at the local Doctor's surgery and I volunteer as a counsellor one day a week in a nearby town. I have two children aged 12 and 15 both of whom go to school in Lyme. We also have three cats, two guinea pigs and a dog!
I am often around if you want to chat about what to do and where to go, I'm very happy to help plan your days. I don't like to intrude on your privacy during your break however and so tend to leave you to it unless you ask for my help. I want your stay to be as enjoyable and comfortable as possible so I would love you to let me know if there's anything I can do whilst you're here that would make it a greater success....though I can't always fix the weather!
Look forward to seeing you in Lyme soon.
