Our cozy village home is steps away from the great restaurants and shops in the New Paltz village and the SUNY New Paltz, but still a quiet, restful getaway. Minutes to the rail trail, about 15 minutes to Mohonk Mountain House or the Mohonk Preserve.

The space

Downstairs the house has one bedroom with a full bed, one full bathroom, a living room with games, a kitchen, a baby's room with books and a crib (that can also be set up with a queen-size air mattress), and a laundry room with a washer and dryer.

House sleeps 4 total.

The deck is a quiet place to enjoy a glass of wine and a book. The yard attracts cardinals, bluejays, and other songbirds.

We are happy to provide guests with information about the Mohonk Preserve, Minnewaska State Park, the fantastic spa at Mohonk Mountain House, and some of the best local restaurants. And we can make other suggestions for activities in the area.

Guest access

You have run of the first floor, the deck, and the backyard. Our offices are on the second floor and are closed to guests.

You also have access to the washer and dryer, which are in a nook off of the kitchen.

Interaction with guests

When you book, we'll discuss how we'll handle handing off the key. But otherwise we won't be here. We will be available by email should any issues arise.

Other things to note

The fine print: We have two cats that live here, but they won't be here when you're here. We have a dishwasher (not pictured in the current images).

Your Cozy cape cod home was a perfect fit for us in New Paltz, all within easy walking distance to our favorite restaurants and stores. Our hosts were great, putting in AC units for us and we were treated to a new BBQ grill out back. The house was lovely with a well stocked kitchen, (we made a quesadillas, and a fresh summer pasta dish), all with the super fresh veggies from the food co-op share that Rachel & Joe let us use while they were away! The outdoor deck was wonderful, sipping home made sangria and simply relaxing with nothing but the gentle sound of the wind blowing thru the big trees - Wow! Thank you Rachel and Joe for sharing your home with us.

Rachel and Joe made our stay easy and relaxing. Their Cozy Cape Cod was close enough to walk into town for shopping, good food and great drinks! We were able to hang out on their back porch and enjoy the peace and quiet outside. Any questions we had, they were quick to respond to. They made sure to leave out towels and had fresh sheets on the bed for our stay. We look forward to coming again! Thank you!!

Rachel and Joe's home was the perfect place for four people to stay! The description is definitely accurate about the air mattress--it is super comfortable. The location is ideal for walking to Main Street for dinner. The house is clean and had anything you could need in the kitchen. We were just a short drive from amazing hikes and wineries. Rachel and Joe left us the newspaper and hiking maps, as well as recommendations for other activities in the area! Would definitely recommend any couple to stay here who is looking for a relaxing weekend away!
