When I travel, I typically try to find places that are as authentic to the area as possible. I found that authenticity while staying at Lucy's place. It's brimming with all of the charms you find in a handbuilt/traditional mud house. I would stay at Lucy's place again!

It's been said a few times in the reviews, but be mindful that visiting Lucy's place means you're interested in getting the local experience, not a hotel experience. This home is a beautiful and eclectic adobe house that feels like something out of a movie. It is an aromatic and sensory enhancing experience just being in the house. Be prepared to live off the grid (there's wifi but internet throughout Taos is pretty limited) and soak in a more natural life experience focused on wellness of mind, body and spirit. Would definitely recommend for those interested in an experience more than just a simple place to stay.

The house is alive. That can be good or bad. The room is very quiet and cozy.

Beautiful and rustic.Very clean. If you are into adventure and historic ambience, this is for you. The place smelled so lovely: like herbs and essential oils. It feels like going back in time. You will get VERY close to nature - and the odd little but you will have running water, a lovely old adobe to shelter in, plumbing and a claw foot tub. The stars were gorgeous and the tenants friendly.

I like the charming bumpy little dirt roads and local color and greenery in Lucy's little ancient neighborhood and though the accomodations are most suitable for flexible people who aren't expecting the fanciness of a hotel (nor its sterility!), it is quite adequate and affordable in comparison to most places. I guess you could say it's a little bit hippy. And the host was kind enough to accomodate me last-minute & made me feel welcome. I was provided a facecloth & towel & all my needs were met. The bed in the bedroom was not quite supportive enough for my body (I'm in my 70's) but I managed to get just enough sleep all the same. I think it is ideal for traveling young folks. There were lots of sweet & helpful little notes posted around the house.
