Fun weekend outing with family and/or friends on the river. Float to, cave on, nature hike and enjoy the beauty of Ozark mountain country. Remote cabin has all modern conveniences and is located minutes from I-44 Cuba exit. Hot tub under the stars and howl at the moon!

The space

Beds for 10 but can sleep 11 if they don't mind the couch. That said there is a good spot for an air mattress to ultimately sleep 12. Log/Rock cabin built pre-civil war on the Meramec River. Follow nature trails through woods and pastures and see all kinds of wild life. Enjoy picnics and bon fires at the campground. Hike or kayak to our cold water spring that dumps 20,000 gallons daily into the Meramec River. Explore caves and caverns or walk the bluffs over the Meramec River. Can arrange float trip for $20 a person if interested. Three night minimum on holiday weekends.

Guest access

Kitchen, bathrooms/showers, laundry, hot tub, campground, firewood and fire places. One of the bathrooms is in the unfinished basement.

Interaction with guests

We'll give you an orientation of the cabin and the lay of he land and then leave you to enjoy. Then available for questions or direction by phone.

Other things to note

Can arrange a 5 mile or 7 mile float in canoes or rafts. Will pick your group up at the cabin, float you down past our place which is about halfway point where you can picnic at the campground, restock, and finish float. They will then drop you back at cabin once float is over.

I absolutely love Henry's log cabin. My friends, family and I came down and stayed 2 separate weekends and it was perfect for both groups. Henry is hands down my favorite host so far on Airbnb. He was quick to get back with me on my silly questions, and set up our floats without any problems. The land and house are absolutely beautiful and has that log cabin, historical home kind of feeling. Henry gets 5 stars all the way!!

We absolutely loved staying at Henry's place! So much I'm staying there next weekend with my family! Henry is great and easy to work with, he was quick to get back to me with any questions I had. The cabin is in a great location, away from reality, close to the river but close enough to town if you needed to get there. I highly recommend staying here whether you're looking for a friend or family get a way. My friends and I will be back next year for our yearly float!

This was our second year staying here and you couldn't ask for a better host or a better home with a great location. We enjoyed the cabin and the access to the river as well as the float trip on Saturday. Henry is a great guy thanks for sharing your home with us again!

This cabin is perfect for a float trip weekend. We brought an air mattress and slept 12 comfortably. The house is inviting and unique. The hot tub was a hit after a long day of floating. Having a house with AC and a full kitchen has ruined us for future float trips, I don't think we will ever stay at a campsite again. Having the float set up for us with pick up at the cabin was so convenient. All was great!!

Although I didn't meet Henry, he was reachable for every question we had during our stay, not to mention being helpful in fielding all the questions I peppered him with in advance of booking this cabin for our group. We were looking for somewhere to stay with air conditioning for a change from tent camping during our annual float trip, and this cabin turned out to be a great option! Henry also arranged said float trip for us which included being picked up and dropped off at the cabin - super convenient and a highlight of our stay. As another reviewer mentioned, this is a home in the woods with the typical creepy crawlies, but definitely clean and comfortable. There was plenty of room for the 11 of us. The kitchen area was roomy enough for several of us to do meal prep and cleanup without stepping on each others toes. Although it was not a major issue for us, some groups may want to know that the bathroom on the main level is nestled between the three bedrooms requiring walking through either of two bedrooms to reach it. The third bedroom could only be accessed by going through the bathroom which made entry/exit tricky when the bathroom was occupied. That being said, there is a second more spacious bathroom in the basement. With so much more to do/explore at this property than we got around to during this stay, we look forward to returning for our next float trip!

Henry User ProfileHenry is a superhost.

Very laid back and get along with most everyone. I have a passion for travel...backpacked 20 months accross South America, Africa, Eastern Europe, Central and Southeast Asia. On this trip I learned a lot about myself and the world we all share.

I love new places as well as returning to favorite destinations. Meeting new people is my favorite pass time.

I have had the great fortune of having many open their home to me and I am excited to reciprocate now that I myself have a cool space to share. You should know I am clean, respectful, and strive for that a word
