Cute and comfy. 17 foot trailer nestled in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. Indoor/outdoor sitting area. Small kitchen, fridge, bathroom. Composting toliet is cute, clean, not in trailer. 15 minutes to Oly.Closer to TESC.

The space

What makes this space unique is its location in the woods. Though you are on our property, the trailer is positioned for privacy and the beautiful view of the woods. I believe this space is best for two people.

Guest access

Guests have access to the trailer and outdoor sitting area. Convenient parking at trailer. One does not have to carry belongings far. We have 7 acres which you are welcome to explore. Depending on timing we can take you on a guided hike to some water falls which are a 10 minute hike from the trailer. Tree house available for older children with parent permission. We have two friendly dogs, cats, ducks and chickens.

Interaction with guests

We will check you into the trailer. Show you the property, then leave you alone. However we are friendly and willing to help you get around and find things to do in the area.

Other things to note

The bathroom in the trailer is tiny and funky. See the picture of the floor in the pics. The shower works but is super small. If you are here for several nights you are welcome to make arrangements with us to shower or bathe at our house.
We provide two sleeping bags, pillows and extra blankets. There is a two burner camp stove, electric tea kettle, toaster oven and refrigerator.

As a travel night nurse, I was looking for a peaceful little retreat for a month and a half. The little camper in the woods was perfect! Tranquil little spot with a trail perfect for a little trail run, yet the location is conveniently close to Hwy 101 and Olympia. Jodi was easily accessible and attentive to my needs and questions, yet I felt my privacy and space was respected. I definitely want to spend time again at this magical little retreat!!

Susan met us in the dark and helped us find the trailer nestled in the broad-leaf maples and evergreens! The trailer stayed warm and cozy in the November weather with plenty of blankets and a little space heater. We were able to do some simple cooking and enjoy the setting before heading out for camping. I particularly loved eating a late brunch and drinking coffee on the little porch looking out into the rainy forest.

We loved our stay in the little trailer! It was super cute and welcoming with Christmas lights and dahlias from the garden. We were welcomed by Jodi's friend, Susan, who was very hospitable and helps with the upkeep of the trailer. She left her porch lights on so we could go to her house if we ever needed anything. We came for a conference at the Evergreen State College. It was about a 10 min drive. It was perfect, but you definitely need a car. The trailer is located just at the edge of the forest. It was raining during our stay so we had the most refreshing hike in the essence of the PNW temperate rainforest. The rain was no bother. Car was right there, compost toilet right next/behind the trailer, which keeps getting wet minimal. They provide you with the basics (sleeping bags, blankets, hot plate, water boiler, coffee, lantern, fire pit and wood). If you are planning to make meals, you should bring other camping cooking supplies (camp stove, cookware, knife, Dutch oven, cleaning supplies (dish soap provided). Marshmallows for the fire would be nice! Best tip I can give is to follow Jodi's instructions on getting there. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps does not have the gravel road portion mapped out properly, so it had no idea how to direct us for the last few minutes.

The trailer in the woods was a wonderful experience for me and was exactly as presented in the Airbnb listing. I was greeted by a host who gave me a tour of the trailer with all of its workings and accommodations. I felt more comfortable in this space than in any motel/hotel. It was cozy and private and, while it is in a woodsy/country setting, is quite close to the westside and downtown of Olympia. I enjoyed being able to have a campfire in the fire pit. This was my first ever Airbnb experience and makes me want to pursue this form of lodging in the future. I would certainly want to stay at Jodi's trailer in the woods again.

Beautiful forest setting for a rustic camper experience. Electricity (mini fridge, hot plate, toaster oven, heater or fan, electric kettle) and running water (urine only toilet, sink and possibly shower) bucket-bench outhouse included. Narrow sleeping benches with plenty of warm bedding and a great covered porch with seasonally permitted fire pit (fire wood and kindling provided). I enjoyed the relative quiet and nestled-in-the-forest feeling. Notes to prospective guests: bring all food- (ground coffee was provided) easy enough with a Safeway not far away and plan on arriving in daylight as the dirt roads and multiple turns can be a challenge to navigate the first time. We were greeted by a friend of the family who trained us in the various operations (water pump, water heater and toilet). We never met our hosts nor learned where the waterfall was and with so many properties dotting the hillside (as guessed by dog bark newscasts coming from various directions) we didn't feel we could just explore around. The place was picture perfect, clean, functional and private.
