Ej was extremely helpful before and during our stay. The location is amazing. Steps from the Eastern Promenade and walking distance to downtown. The neighborhood is very quiet. Inside, there was plenty of food and basic amenities for us that made our stay easy. Definitely a great way to check out what Portland has to offer.

We had a great, easy, comfortable stay. The host had included so many details to make this rental feel like we were staying with friends. Great location to walk to the kayak rental or great brunch, and 5 minute drive or uber from Old Port. We would stay there again in a flash!

A group of friends and I stayed at Erna's place while in town for a friend's wedding. The apartment is very comfortable, with a central, eat-in kitchen, lots of bed space, and additional sleeping options of couch, cot, air mattress, etc (we had a big group!). The neighborhood is residential but easily walkable to downtown and the proximity to the beachfront park and running paths was a major plus! Erna also stopped by with welcome flowers and chocolates, which was very kind and welcoming.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Ej's place in Portland. The building is old wood construction and you can hear the upstairs neighbors walking around very early in the morning, but other than that the apartment was ideal. Very spacious and clean, with large bedrooms and an amazingly well-equipped kitchen and large dining table. Ej provided us with clear and easy instructions for every aspect of accessing and using her place, and the decor is most comfortable and charming. The apartment is perfectly cool during the summer and literally around the corner from beautiful views of the water. The neighborhood is friendly and calm, with good restaurants and bakeries that we went to often. I would absolutely recommend staying at Ej's!

This house exceeded my expectations. It's an older house with a few minor limitations you'd expect, but was very nicely furnished and clean. The free off-street parking was a welcome plus. The host was friendly and helpful when we asked. Best of all is the location. Two blocks from the huge East Promenade park made for nice evening walks. It's about a mile walk from the island ferry port, which was great. And easy access to the highway to the north where we went for a couple of day trips.

Thanks Christopher - AND, yes, there is a lightswitch at the top of the stairs, it is buried under the grocery bags on the wall. SO, i pledge to improve by making sure all guests are told about it specifically. Glad you had a great time!

My style of hosting is "everything you need" - The home is comfortable, well-stocked (paper products, coffee and fixings to start your first morning, stuff like bug spray and tanning lotion, etc, etc). Books to read, plenty of advice in a lengthy welcome letter about where to go…
