Don't do it. The price is reflective of the service. The hostess is controlling. She tries to tell people they can't eat or drink in bedrooms, and that they have to take off shoes to go upstairs. She doesn't live in the home and she, her boyfriend, and random friends and of…
Response from Monica-Sophie:
A cursory review of other guests' feedback will establish the outlandish nature of this customer's claims. Expectations were made clear in the Airbnb ad and in subsequent communication between myself and guest while I attended a funeral out of the country. When I returned I observed that guest had moved massive amounts of boxes into the garage and changed her address to that of the house (mail in her family member's names began arriving!). I indicated on several occasions where the guest could store some of her items but guest did not comply. I also observed that while the room is clearly set up to accommodate several guests, this guest had taken over most of the closet space, re-arranged the furniture inside, and thrown some furniture away. My clothing was removed from the closet and put into the garage. I found out later that she even removed clothing and possessions from another girl's armoire in the room. I also observed that in my absence, all of of my personal, framed photos in the living room had been taken down. Despite clear signage in the home, I observed the guest walking up the stairs in shoes and eating in the room. Other guests complained that she stayed up late in the room, using a computer and tablet, despite the "Quiet Hours" rules. Guest's private feedback states that hostess was unreachable when the exact opposite was the case, per date and time stamps in Airbnb and text messages. Guest also states that rats are scurrying to the Airbnb from a shed across the street. Had there been, any of the other guests that I am hosting or have hosted in the past would surely have pointed that out immediately to me. As for the bedding, in my absence, I told the guest I would try to arrange for some to be on the bed prior to her arrival, but that if not, she could find some in the linen closet. Regarding the "strangers over at all hours of the day and night," it was 2-8PM to fix the leaking kitchen faucet -with 24 hour notice given to the guest. Why anyone would choose to stay in someone's home where a USED SEX TOY has (supposedly) been left on their bed is beyond me. And why would they want to stay on long-term in a home with advertised rules that they DON'T intend or wish to follow (fellow guests complained that she refused to help with household chores)? And yet the guest was moving all of her possessions into my home, and changing her address. I knew by the end of the guest's 3rd of 5 week's stay that it wasn't worth wasting the guest's time with the application process, as she clearly was (already) not a good fit to be a long-term tenant in my home. After having hosted numerous excellent guests in the past, I can say that this is the WORST Airbnb guest I've ever had stay in my home. It leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I naïvely left a generously neutral review (read: no misrepresentations or exaggerations) of the guest after their reservation ended.
