We LOVED staying at Philip's place. It was just what we were looking for - a super charming getaway where we had access to fun, outdoor activities. We spent a day kayaking at Lake Dunmore, about a 10 min drive away, which was beautiful and seems to be a local hotspot. We also got out on the Long Trail and hiked up to Mount Horrid (about 1.5m hike that's steep but well worth the treck) - about a 5 min drive from Philip's. The views from the cliffs were breathtaking. There are also many other trails nearby. We spent a day getting out of town and drove to the Woodstock/Killington area where we checked out local places and the Long Trail Brewery - about 45-60 min away. There is a cute town, Brandon, about 10 min from Philip's that has cute shops and eateries. So even though there isn't very much immediately around the property, I feel there is lots in close proximity. The cottage is charming. Visitors have the entire cottage to themselves. We didn't meet or see Philip, but we're in touch through email throughout our stay. He was a great host, and has such an awesome property. From the calming sounds of the stream running in front of the house, to waking up with a view of his pond, which was also fun to take our kayaks in, it really is a great spot. We loved it.

Just as advertised, cute place tucked away in quiet spot. The pond and creek are great.

Serene, quiet, private spot off the beaten path. Lovely private property. Near a nice general store for the basics, and hiking trails, a river, and woods. Be prepared to drive to get to much else - Rutland is 25m away - and bring paper maps or ensure your offline maps are updated before you leave the WiFi in the house because cell service is spotty for all carriers.

Philip's house is lovely. The national forest that borders the property is great for running or cycling. Foley Brothers brewery is a 10-minute drive. Lake Dunmore is, too. The house is perfect for friends or couples and the kitchen is excellent and fully stocked if you want to cook all weekend. We'll be back!

This is a beautiful home in the middle of the woods and was perfect for our wedding anniversary getaway. The grounds are well maintained, Philip was available at a moment's notice and the location is quintessential northern New England. We will definitely consider staying again.

Great location and value if you are doing a race with Endurance Society, in Goshen.

This is the second year consecutively that my family and I stayed at Phillip's place for a snowshoe race in Goshen. It is always very clean and cozy. We had a great time and would definitely be back again!
