Lovely airy, light space with a wood burning stove and facilities for independent living. The room lies at one end of a family home, above the old coach house. Ideal for two people, and a double futon available for two extra people on request.

The space

The studio conversion is integral to an old thatched farmhouse where we live, which dates back to at least the 15th century. We are slowly and (hopefully) lovingly, restoring it.

Guest access

The back garden, which catches the last light of the day.

Our first stay at Mary's wonderful accommodation while we were visiting family in Brundall, and my wife and I will now make this our regular place to stay during future visits. With two brothers living in Brundall, and my Mum in a seniors home in nearby Blofield, this is a perfect location for us. With a rental car picked up at Norwich airport, we enjoy the freedom and independence of having our own place rather than imposing on family to put us up. The unit is up a flight of stairs, so perhaps not ideal for someone who finds stairs a challenge. The apartment above the garage/coach house is a large single space with kitchen, living room and bedroom all-in-one, and looks exactly as shown in the web site pictures. Spotlessly clean and with all the things a home away from home should have. We appreciated the coffee and team makings already in place, and a trip to the local store supplied everything else. The hosts are most welcoming and helpful, but respectful of our privacy and did not intrude into our rather busy schedule. The most unexpected and nicest surprise was to be immediately adopted by the host's beautiful Golden Labrador, who acted as a substitute for the two family dogs we left behind in Canada. His face was always at the glass front door when we pulled into the driveway, and his very waggly tail going full tilt every time we interacted with him. By the end of the week he was sleeping on the floor between our beds, which truly made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend this accommodation for any couple looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Brundall, or near to any part of the east end of Norwich.

Mary and Micheal made our first experience of Air b&b a sheer joy. We arrived as strangers and left as friends. Strumpshaw is an idyllic country side location, peaceful and quiet.* We enjoyed long country walks, to visiting the city of Norwich. The studio was ideal for our needs, self catering , spacious and clean. *There is currently some building work going on nearby, but we never noticed it. Fantastic hosts a great location, and a wonderful experience.

I am delighted to recommend Mary and Michael’s Studio. They were stellar hosts, and the accommodations are lovely. I spent 4 days in Strumpshaw, an idyllic retreat from the madness of the big city. The village is a terrific home base from which to explore The Broads. The Studio is a pristeen, private, self-contained oasis, whether you plan to stay short or long-term. The Greens’ historic farmhouse will take you back hundreds of years. I noted that this kind of lodging simply does not exist in Canada, my homeland, as it is SO old! Here, your privacy is very respected, except you might be paid a visit by Tsampa, the lovable Golden Lab. Across the road the post office serves as a fine wine shop, and The Huntsman Pub, a short walk away, serves up authentic pub food, lovingly prepared.
