Carol was quick to respond to our last minute booking and she was very helpful in anything I needed to know. Her beautiful mother Gloria greeted us when we arrived. She is an amazing woman who radiates light. The little cottage was delightful and perfect to relax in with all that we needed. Full kitchen, comfortable bed. A cute lil oasis to escape to. I hope to come back again soon!! Thank you!

This is a very difficult review to write. I had such a pleasant conversation with Carol's mom, Gloria, upon arriving. Super friendly and helpful. I would have loved to be a neighbor of hers! I'm stressed between being friendly and giving an honest review. I reserved and paid for 8 days/nights, but only stayed one night. All in all I was quite disappointed. To begin with the bed was so soft that I could barely sleep; it bothered my back and neck to the degree that I couldn't stay for another week. The cabin is very dated and needs a lot of attention. Window air conditioners were provided but I was afraid to run one that was hanging at a steep angle, ready to fall from the window. In addition they were connected with underrated extension cords. One cord was routed through an artificial plant (fire hazard) and into another room with an outlet. One smoke detector was sitting on a window ledge without a working battery. The bathroom had no light, which I only discovered in the middle of the night. None of the outlets were grounded and a few of the appliances (including the electric water heater in the kitchen) weren't properly grounded (i.e. the third wire in the outlet wasn't connected). While looking for light bulbs the next morning I discovered that under the kitchen sink the water pipe was held in place with a plastic shopping bag tied to the drain pipe. There were other items, but I feel like I'd be "piling on" to keep listing. It's a "quaint" but very under-maintained "cabin."

Location was great for getting around the area. House needs updating. Accommodations are very basic. Miss Gloria and Carol did a great job of hosting us.

Carol's communication was AMAZING and prompt and her mother Gloria is so sweet, genuine and welcoming. We felt at home and we loved the privacy of our own little place. Because we love Folly Beach and Charleston downtown, it's a little far for us, but that is a matter of preference. It's a very quiet cottage and we felt very safe at night. We had minor bug issues which is to be expected with a cabin in the woods.

Carol's cabin was nice and clean, in a very quiet area a little secluded from downtown Charleston but definitely not too far to all the touristic attractions. Gloria, who welcomed us at the cabin, was very kind and she was very flexible regarding the check-in time. I would definitely recommend Carol's place for a nice and pleasant stay in Charleston.
