The space

The Aggazzotti's house, which are a well known family of landowners from Modena, was built at the end of 1700. The central part of the villa was probably an ancient monastery and still keeps traces of the past in the high ceilings, the spacious rooms and especially in the marble bas-relief with the image of the Madonna. The three rooms to rent are on the first floor of the villa and are in perfect conditions, furnished with antique furniture and nineteenth century paintings. You can park your car in the villa, where you also can take a walk through the ancient woods. Among the attractions there is a beautiful swimming pool, about 13 meters for 7, surrounded by geraniums (the pool is equipped with deckchairs; any towles are available for a fee). We offer a traditional breakfast with homemade jams.
Why take a vacation in Colombaro di Formigine? Two main attractions: on one hand, you will have the opportunity to visit the city of Modena, the ancient capital of Este, with its splendid Romanesque cathedral of 1300 and the Ghirlandina tower that stands on Piazza Grande; on the other, the nearness to Maranello, the historic home of Ferrari, which opens the doors of the Museum and the Wind tunnel. Another reason of attraction for lovers of the sport, is the Golf of Modena, which is in front of the villa.
In the villa the guests can enjoy moments of relaxation, using the swimming pool in the garden, surrounded by green woods with secular trees. In June, the nights are illuminated by a myriad of fireflies

A lovely Italian experience. A very clean and comfortable room and bathroom with pretty garden in a historical villa. Lots to see in the area and do even though a bit put of season. We enjoyed visits to the Palace in Sassuolo and the charcuterie museum as well as Ferrari at Maranello. Lovely garden. A little bit difficult to get in and out onto the main road driving a right hand drive car. Need to have a car. Lovely experience and would like to come again.

This was our second stay at Alessandra's home. We came back because it was our best AirBnB experience ever--and this time, it was even better. Alessandra is such a kind, caring host. She lives on the property and cooked four delicious homemade meals for us, served with Lambrusco from the region (and her family's winery). The house itself is spacious--we had three bedrooms and two full bathrooms at our disposal, along with a common area. The outside space is lovely as well. We spent our days lounging by the swimming pool and playing with our son in the spacious field nearby. The proximity of this house to Modena is great and several supermarkets, wineries, and shopping areas are nearby. We visted a Parmigiano Reggiano factory about 10 minutes from Alessandra's villa as well--definitely recommended. Our stay was once again fantastic and we very much hope to visit again. Grazie mille, Alessandra!

This beautiful villa is amazing, the architecture and gardens was wonderful. My husband Bill, and his brother, Chris, stayed there after their visit to F1 Grand Prix in Monza. This is a Bed and Breakfast accommodation, and they each had their own wonderful, very large rooms. Breakfast was really nice, especially the homemade jams. There is a beautiful garden with a large swimming pool, a lovely place to relax in the evening with the odd glass of wine or two. Alessandra and her family were very welcoming and on hand if they needed any help with the surrounding areas. Alessandra also offered to cook them an evening meal, which they did on their last night, and very nice it was too. One of Bill's favourite things about this place was the wine cellars, and was very happy that he was taken on a tour of these very old cellars. We would definately recommend this amazing place, and will definately return if we are in the area again......and next time I hope to be staying in this amazing Villa.....

We stayed three nights with Alessandra in her amazing early 20th century country residence. The villa is surrounded by a very well kept park-like garden with a wonderful new swimming pool. Instead of visiting Modena and the vicinity we felt so comfortable at Alessandra's place that we spent most of our time there. Alessandra is a warm-hearted host who loves to be there for you. And she is a great cook. So try out a dinner with her. Alessandra's villa is the perfect spot to find out about how wealthy North Italian families must have lived like in prewar times. Highly recommended!!

Host was lovely on arrival, however got a bit annoying where she would suddenly appear all the time if you were in kitchen. Also the fact of not being to use kitchen accessories (with own bought groceries) was not at all acceptable.

Response from Alessandra:
Dear Kerry, I am very sorry for our incomprehension. I am only renting a 3 rooms apartment located in the first floor of my big beloved villa. The kitchen is used from my guests for breakfast and I don' t have any problems to allow the use of the fridge. The use of the kitchen accessories needs to be agreed. I didn' t appreciated the consume from your side of food of my property present in the kitchen (oil and coffee pods) without a previous request. Thanks, Alessandra.

Our 3-night stay at Alessandra's villa was, without a doubt, the best Airbnb experience we have ever had. It was the kind of experience I think Airbnb was designed for. She and her sweet dog Leo welcomed us heartily and she showed us around the spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment as well as around the rest of her beautiful history-filled home. We slept very well on the comfortable beds, and we enjoyed swimming in the large pool on the grounds as well as taking a stroll around the estate. Alessandra graciously cooked all three nights for us (we were with our 9-month-old son, so with Alessandra's amazing home cooking, date night was possible again!) and the food was simply delectable. She served the meals with a great Lambrusco from the region (and when I say region I actually mean literally down the street--we stopped by to pick up a couple cases to take home). Breakfast was also great and we were actually sad to leave at the end of our stay. We very much hope to come back again and would heartily recommend this experience to anyone passing through the Modena area. It is a great base for exploring Modena, Parma, Bologna and the surrounding area. Grazie mille Alessandra per l'ospitalitá!
