Welcome home! Enjoy your private bedroom & attached private bath in our conveniently located historic home. Share our kitchen, living room, & common spaces. Beautiful yard and garden with 11 fruit trees! BART 1 mile. Friendly dog. Free coffee!

The space

Our home is your home, and "at home" is how we want you to feel. We provide a blend of privacy (bedroom and bath) and shared space with a friendly couple and our dog. The inside of our 110 year old home is comfy, and the outside yard and garden has over 11 fruit trees and is a very pleasant space to spend time.

Guest access

Our home is your home. In your private bedroom you will have closet and dresser space. Your private bathroom includes a bath/shower and all the essentials. We LOVE our kitchen, and you are welcome to make yourself at home here. We have a vintage Wedgewood stove/oven and 99% of the kitchen goodies you can imagine. Help yourself to condiments and Peet's coffee. Check in with us about what garden herbs, veggies and fruit are in season: if we have extra, we are happy to share. You can eat at the small kitchen table, or more formally in the dining room with its box beam ceiling and beautiful 100 year old features. The living room is a comfortable place to curl up with a good book or enjoy our large screen TV with Netflix, Hulu, HBO-Go, or Wii. When the weather cooperates, our backyard is a lovely place to hang out, enjoy a meal, or make a small fire.

Interaction with guests

The amount of interaction we have with guests is completely up to you. We love sharing our home, and when it works out sharing meals and conversation. However, if you prefer privacy, we certainly respect that. We know the area very well, and are happy to point you toward areas that connect with your interests.

Other things to note

If you are traveling with a dog, feel free to check in to see if it would work to have it stay as well.

We are a mixed race couple. Our home is LGBTQ friendly and we warmly welcome people of all ages, backgrounds, cultures, races, and beliefs.

We are, unfortunately, not wheel chair accessible, and there are a total of 7 steps from the sidewalk to the front door.

Wireless Internet

House Rules

We trust you will respect our home. No indoor smoking, and if you do smoke (tobacco or herb), please let us know so we can set you up with an outdoor space.

Christian and I could not have wished for a better place to stay. The moment we arrived we recieved the warmest welcome from Dennis and Trish (and especially from Louise and Oscar, their wonderful dogs). We felt right at home. Thank you so much!! We really hope to see you again sometimes. But for now I wish you all the best on your amazing and wonderful adventure!

My wife and I are avid travelers and also enjoy hosting others in our home. I have lived in Oakland for 20 years and am a great source of information for places to explore, great eats & drinks, outdoor activities, and arts & culture.
