Light filled, 800 square foot apartment with high ceilings, historic details and charm. Sleeps three, with one queen bed and one single bed. A fourth guest can sleep on the large comfortable couch. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby.

The space

The apartment represents Brooklyn Brownstone living at its best. Built in 1891, the house is on a block designated as an historic landmark by the City of New York. The apartment is over 800 square feet and full of historical details and charms including extra high ceilings, parquet floors, original wood shutters, a claw foot tub and built-in cabinetry. Light pours in from the many windows.

The Neighborhood is full of kids playing on the street, grandmothers sitting on the stoops - families who have lived here for generations.

We are a very short walk to the subway (A and C trains at Utica Avenue). Lower Manhattan is only 20 minutes away.

Guest access

Free Wifi. Easy on-street parking.

Interaction with guests

We both love meeting new people and love to advise visitors on the joys of New York City and Brooklyn. We live right downstairs from the apartment and our aim is to make your stay as enjoyable as possible

Other things to note

One of the best Neopolitan pizza places (Saraghina) is right around the corner. People come from all over the City to try it. If you stay in Bed-Stuy, either with us or elsewhere, it's a must. There's also a really great bar around the corner that has live music almost every night. It's owned by a Grammy award winner and it is a must see!

There is a twenty-four hour gourmet green grocer on the corner. We go there ALL the time to meet our food and sundry needs

A well-known Southern BBQ restaurant is just one block away, and several coffee shops serve excellent coffee and espressos.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful old apartment. As you can see in the floor-plan the layout is a bit funky, with the door to the apartment leading into the main bedroom and the kitchen split by a pocket door between the cabinets/sink and the fridge/range area. We were two couples staying here who didn't mind being in each other's space but it's something to consider. The beds were very comfortable and the apartment has all the the essentials. The big highlight for us was all the amazing food options nearby, namely Bar Lunatico for tapas, Angela's for amazing Caribbean food (and German beers!), Kafe Louverture for Haitian breakfast/lunch and Saraghina for its bakery and great brunch/dinner. Would definitely stay again!

Joe and Jeff's place beats any other apartments when it comes to location! All the best cafes and restaurants are steps away, and you really must try them all. Public transport is easily accessible, and we always felt safe walking around late at night.

We had a nice stay, the communication with Joe and Jeff was very good. The place is a good location close to the subway, which was very nice.

It was a good experience. Things were as expected and communication was smooth. One challenge was the street parking - having to move the vehicle every other day was a challenge as lots of other cars were doing the same thing on the streets.

Joe and Jeff's place was beautiful and clean, check in and out were very smooth and they were very accommodating hosts. The apartment was very spacious and great for the three of us staying there, and it had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The subway stops are not too far away and the streets felt safe walking through in the evenings. There are grocery stores nearby and some nice bars and cafes too. All in all a great stay, thanks again!
