The space

The peace and tranquility of Canneto make your stay a unique experience. Every room has a private bathroom, and every guest has access to the shared, public spaces in the Garden, the Loggia and the Living Room.
The Villa is an historic place, built over several time periods, beginning in the medieval. Guest rooms are located on various levels of the house and there is no elevator. Rooms are unique in size, but each is comfortable and efficient.

Interaction with guests

In addition to access to the public spaces, guests have their breakfast in the dining room, access to the swimming pool (in the summer months), and access to the forest and olive groves around the house.
The Rucellai - Piqué family continues to live in the house, but tries to remain unobtrusive, allowing guests to feel alone and undisturbed as much as possible. The grounds remain a working farm and guest can expect to hear occasional noise from the tractor or other equipment as work goes on in the olive groves and the small vineyard. From late October through November, olive oil production can be seen and heard, and the air is filled with the aroma of fresh pressed olive oil.

Beautiful old and traditional of the era. My friend and I didn't get to explore the property and surrounds but what we did see was gorgeous.

We had a great time at villa Rucellai. The building and grounds are amazing with beautiful views over the valley. Also enjoyed relaxing by the pool. Note you need your own car as there's not much within walking distance. There is WiFi but wasn't reliable during our stay. Apart from that I highly recommend to stay here forced the real country Tuscany experience and good location for day trips around Tuscany.

This is a most beautiful villa, in a lovely quiet setting amongst the olive groves. The family could not have been more welcoming, and went out of their way to look after us, especially on the first evening when we were held up at the airport and were later than planned. The breakfast was more than ample, with fresh local fruit and a delicious home made cake every morning in addition to the normal fare. The gardens are a delight, and the views lovely. Because of it's quiet location you will need a car to get about. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic location with warm friendly hosts and staff, do not hesitate to book. We hope to return one day.

Romantic, quiet and a real Tuscan experience. The villa was far more impressive in person than any website could give it credit for. Almost museum-like yet inviting. Our room was spacious and clean. The only qualm we may have had was the intense heat we experienced in our room overnight- yet, that's to be expected with a villa which has no AC and was built in the 6th century. Our experience was truly lovely and peaceful. Every degree of the property was picturesque and inviting. We loved every second of it!

Beautiful 250 yr old family owned villa. Hosts and staff were friendly and very helpful. Wifi worked for 2 hours of the 2 days we were there which made making our own transportation plans difficult, but the staff was happy to help.

The family continues to live in the Villa, and gives over several rooms for guests.
