This centrally located, cosy hotel is housed in an authentic Dutch canal house built in 1652. The room has an en-suite bathroom and a stunning canal view. Breakfast is included, there's free Wi-Fi and the city's finest cocktail bar is next door!

The space

The room has 2 single beds and an en-suite bathroom with a washbasin, toilet and a shower. There is central heating, a TV and Wi-Fi which you can use at your convenience.

Guest access

You will be given a set of keys that will allow you to come and go any time you please.

We don’t really have an official check-in time. At the latest the room will be ready around 14:00 but usually it’s earlier. If you arrive before the room is ready you can leave your bags in the office and go and explore the area.

IMPORTANT: our reception closes at 20:00, for check-ins after this time there is a €10 surcharge. You must let us know in advance if you are going to be checking in late. The fee must be paid in cash upon arrival.

Interaction with guests

Daniel is one of the employees of the hotel and he will be your contact person during your stay, feel free to ask him anything! Additionally you can always find someone around the reception area between 8am and 8pm. They will also happily help you out with any questions you may have.

Other things to note

Breakfast is included and is served downstairs in the reception every morning from 08:15 until 10:30. It includes fresh coffee or tea, orange juice, a croissant, boiled egg, bread roll, jam & cheese.

Please be aware: we have a small elevator in the building but it is currently only able to transport luggage. You must climb three flights of winding stairs to get to the room, therefore it is not suitable for people with physical disabilities or people with general mobility issues.

- Please consider the other guests and keep the noise down in the evenings and at night. Please no loud music.

- The whole building is strictly non-smoking. Buildings on the canal ring have very strict fire regulations. There are very sensitive smoke detectors in every room which make an awfully loud noise when set off. Please only smoke outside, you are welcome to sit on the front step.

- When you check-out it would be much appreciated if the room was left in a decent state.

You must also acknowledge
Must climb stairs - Three flights of winding stairs.
Potential for noise - Some street noise.

Good location, next to restaurants, public transportation and bars. The Brothels surrounding the hotel made walking around in the area at night slightly uncomfortable.

Gorgeous canal view indeed! From the flurry of daytime cyclists to the pink sunset over rooftops, to charming lights and passerby strolling after dark. While sleeping, we did hear some noise through open the windows, but not enough to be bothersome. Comfortable beds, warm shower and a lovely breakfast room (and breakfast.) Original architecture and old world charm. There is a tiny elevator for one person with bags, helpful on arrival given the spiral staircases. Daniel was nice to send a big packet of info and tips in advance, and the staff was kind. Relaxing spot in the center of lively Amsterdam. Great value. Enjoy!

The location was great- we had plenty of night life, dining, and shopping options. Also nice for us as we left the next day- it's a 5 minute walk to Central Station. I personally wouldn't recommend for families with kids. The neighborhood didn't seem to be the safest and it was very loud outside throughout the night. We had a great stay and the breakfast was hot, fresh, and SO GOOD! We would stay here again!

I'm a busy Amsterdammer, born and bred, who works in the hospitality industry. I run my own B&B but I also run this profile for the owner of a beautiful 17th century hotel on the Singel canal.

I really love my city and I'm always happy to impart some of my local knowledge to our guests. Whatever it is, I'm happy to help!
