My house is in a nice village of Panglao near the plaza and is walking distance to the market and the 7-11. La Familia Restaurant and a laundry service are nearby. Sorry, I do not serve breakfast or meals. I have Wi-Fi in the house and hot & cold water shower. My place is 4.8 km (8 minutes by tricycle) to Alona Beach and 2.4 km (5 minutes) to the quiet Doljo Beach. Sorry, I no longer live here and have listed my four rooms for rent. I have 2 dogs in the premises. Kitchen available on this floor.

The space

I have a two-storey home and I rent 2 bedrooms upstairs (with one sharing bathroom) while I rent another two bedrooms downstairs (a total of 4 rooms). Please note that the price indicated on this site is for each bedroom. The bathroom and kitchenette with refrigerator and cooking stove are shared for the guests in both rooms upstairs only. Plates and glasses are provided. WE NOW HAVE HOT SHOWER. I also have 2 dogs. Please also read "The Neighborhood" section on this page to familiarize yourself of my place. There is a nice restaurant called La Familia in front of the church/plaza one-minute walk from the house. A 7-11 is also near the plaza.
From Tagbilaran City either coming from the airport or seaport, you can take a tricycle (300 pesos) or a taxi (500 pesos) to Poblacion Panglao where my house is. Tell the driver to take you to Casa Ligaya next to Sentorias Hardware. If you are traveling alone you can also take a habal-habal motorcycle for 150 pesos. Should you wish to take a public bus (bus fare is 20 pesos per person but very crowded). To get to the bus terminal from either airpot or seaport, you have to take a tricycle and tell the driver to take you to the Panglao bus terminal near Shopper's Market. There is no fixed schedule for the buses. They leave as soon as they are full. Good luck!

Guest access

A key is provided for your bedroom, another key for the main door and another key for the padlock on the gate. Please make sure you close the gate behind you and keep the padlock locked at all times.

Interaction with guests

I like to interact with the guests and answer questions they may have about points of interests in the area. I can also help you with tours you might want to take. After you have settled in, I normally do not like to go upstairs to check up, so, if you have any questions you may text me on my local number or email me through AirBnB as I am mostly not at the house.

Other things to note

If you are a soccer fan and would like to join the game, you can do so every Tuesday and Friday afternoons starting at 4:30 PM. The plaza is also a great place for running, jogging or a game of badminton.

We stayed there for 9 nights and met Joy once. She is nice and very responsive. The location is 5 mins scooter drive from Alona beach and 5 mins drive from my freediving school so I m pretty happy about the location. There is a dog in the garden and it is very calm and friendly. Some small things worth mention though: the air condition is unbelievable loud when in use so basically you won't use it, good thing is that at night it usually not too hot so it s ok. Hot water for shower normally is stop and go all the time. But after all with the price I'm happy to get this apt.

Nice place to stay. Price wise; it is very affordable. Friendly caretaker, accommodating host and adorable dog. I highly recommend this place when you're having long vacation in panglao.

We love Casa Ligaya's simplicity. It might not have the fancy amenities of high end resorts but it will give you that homey, provincial feel. Joy and her caretaker Lyn truly made us feel welcome.

We liked the fact that it was not directly in the over touristy Alona Beach but close enough to take a tricycle. Property was very pretty with good security. Good A/C. Joy set us up with a driver Richard who was wonderful and took us around Bohol for the day! Would recommend to fellow travelers

Dogs were very cool and we missed them now. Lyn , property manager was great and nice. I didn't get the chance to meet Joy because she was sick. The location is a bit far from Alona, but it is perfect to someone who needs a quiet and peaceful place. The house has its own utensils to use which is excellent for us. Ambiance is creepy at first because of solemn set up. The electricity of the whole area was unpredictable. There were interruptions at night and water was interrupted as well. Our overall stay for me is very good hopefully next time the host will have time to meet us up. I miss Stephie and Boo!

Thank you for checking out my place. I hope you will choose to stay here so I get a chance to meet you. I love meeting people from all corners of the world as I have traveled extensively myself in North America and a few countries in South America for 18 years as a photography assistant and travel coordinator. I am now based in the laid-back island of Panglao in Bohol where you can spend the days snorkeling, diving, swimming, paddling and much more and at night relax at the bars at the beach. Being a nature lover does not mean I don't enjoy the night life. Some of the few places that my friends and I like to hang out are Bamboo, beach bar of Hennan, Outback, La Vida and Pinarella Bay to dance. So, come, visit and join us take in what this paradise has to offer. See you soon!
