Serene, private and secure, this beautifully decorated two-bedroom home enjoys a glorious garden setting (with swimming pool and sun deck) in a quiet central Ubud area moments from myriad restaurants, boutiques, galleries and yoga centres.

The space

Even long-term residents are surprised to find such a tranquil garden villa so close to central Ubud! Awaiting you is a well-designed , welcoming home offering two bedrooms and generous living space for from one to four guests.

The vaulted, fan-cooled living pavilion includes a seating area, dining area and open plan kitchen. Here, you can recline with a good book on one of the cushioned teakwood day-beds facing the koi pond, snooze in the hammock slung between two coconut pillars, or simply enjoy a meal at the custom-designed hand-crafted table for six. You'll find the kitchen particularly well equipped ... hand blender, coffee grinder, juice extractor, food processor, and unlimited filtered drinking water via a Nazava ceramic filter. And we collect your kitchen waste for composting and subscribe to Eco-Bali’s responsible waste disposal and recycling service for the rest.

The master bedroom opens onto a private courtyard garden with platform over the pond (designed to hold a massage bed). There's a king-size bed, plenty wardrobe space, the choice of ceiling fan or air-conditioning, and an indoor/outdoor bathroom. The second bedroom doubles as a media room, so the built-in queen-size bed is set before a large flat-screen TV with DVD player. This too has a garden bathroom.

The swimming pool is set in delightful tropical gardens shaded by palms, frangipanis and bursting with heliconia and hibiscus blooms. There are two sun-loungers and a parasol on the reclaimed ironwood deck, as well as an all-weather rattan breakfast table and four armchairs – the perfect place to enjoy a lovely breakfast of fresh seasonal fruit and eggs any which way accompanied by tea or freshly brewed coffee.

(Also within the garden is a joglo – an antique Javanese teakwood building –which has another bedroom suite. This is NEVER rented out separately fro the main house but if you wish to include it in your booking, please check listing no (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) at

You'll find some of the things already here that might make your trip planning a little easier (and luggage lighter) – a music dock, safe, hairdryer, iron, bathroom and pool towels, yoga mats (for use in the villa only), and a massage table for private sessions ‘at home’ (we’ll even give you the number of favourite therapists).

Guest access

You’ll have the place to yourself so you can enjoy your own space undisturbed, in complete privacy.

Interaction with guests

Our friendly neighbour and housekeeper will be around to welcome you and help you settle in. She speaks excellent English has a great sense of humour, receives rave reviews from guests! During your stay, she will pop in most days to make your bed, tidy up and prepare breakfast. She’ll discuss the menu with you, do the shopping and prepare the meals; you pay just the local prices for the food plus a reasonable pre-agreed fee for her cooking.

Other things to note

I had very high expectations but they were easily surpassed. We had a fabulous time in this open well maintained home and garden. The home and beautiful garden seem to merge into one incredible scene. It was an oasis of tranquility in a very busy and noisy Ubud. Wayan, our host, was warm and superb and showed my wife how to cook some great Balinese dishes. We wish we could have stayed there forever. We'll be back.

Delighted you plan to be back, Simon! We loved having you and your gorgeous family to stay, and appreciated your infectious enthusiasm for both home and garden, cat and cooking. Come and stay longer next time!!

The villa is both beautiful and comfortable and Wayan comes every day but Sunday to make breakfast, tidy up and help you find things in the area like laundry so you want for nothing. Everything in main Ubud is within walking distance yet the villa is quiet as it faces on a ravine. Lulu slept with us every night because we invited her in and is a very sweet cat. I would definitely book again if my travels brought me here in the future .

The house so tastely decorated and well equipped, the welcoming with flowers everywhere, fresh fruits etc...) the garden, the pool were absolutly amazing, and we have loved everything. The house is nested in nature, very quiet, giving you the songs of birds, frogs and cockerels. Although the house was accessible by dark alleys, we have always felt very safe. Wayan was such a nice person, helpful, kind and we had laugh with her ( she likes joking) . We particularly appreciated the delicious breakfasts and the pandanus/banana crepe !! Thanks a lot Wayan , MERCI beaucoup !!! We took the time to cuddle Miss Lulu the cat, who seemed to be happy sleepling in my suit-case. Gedde the driver recommended by Jenny the owner was a very good one, met us at the airport late at night, also helpful and interesting during the tour we had with him. All with good price. Communication with Jenny the owner was on top of it ! We surely give the adress to friends, and if travelling again in Ubud, w'll be back there.

This place is amazing and was by far our favorite villa in Bali. Wayan made it extra special with her great personality and helpfulness throughout our stay. She's a great cook too! The GPS location provided on Air bnb is wrong so you won't be able to find the place by using it, but the owner and Wayan have excellent communication and will help you or your driver with detailed information on the area and location. Will definitely stay here again if we ever return to Bali!

This was a fantastic stay from start to finish. Although we never had the chance to meet Jenny, communication via email prior to arrival, during, and after was superb. She went above and beyond answering our questions and offering recommendation to us. So nice of her. And the recommendations were all excellent. Her driver recommendation Gede was great, so I definitely recommend him especially if you want to learn history about the city. The home itself is lovely. It was short walk to Yoga Barn and to the main street which has plenty of shops and eventually leads you around to the Monkey Forest. For us, it was an ideal location. Quiet but close enough for a short walk to site see. We loved the pool, the outside living, the hammock, and the AC in the bedroom. Everything was very comfortable and we felt right at home. Our favorite, of course, was Wayan Ani. My wife woke up early to talk with her while she made breakfast for us daily. She taught her so much about cooking - breakfast and dinner. And her food is superb. We hadn't found better in the area. We are just hoping we can replicate it back in the states. But Wayan has the kindest, purest, most beautiful soul. We will never forget her and we hope that we can continue to keep in touch with her. She impacted our lives so much just by her presence and willingness to share (we ask so many questions!). Lulu as well was a treat. She is so lovable and every morning she jumped in bed with us for cuddles. It was great having a loving animal nearby since we were missing our pets back home. We would come back in a heartbeat. In fact, we are already trying to plan another trip there :) 5 stars all around!!! See you again very soon.
