6 bedroom property, only a short distance from the beach and town centre.

The space

Located just outside Polignano a Mare, Villa Maria lies in a predominant position and enjoys an amazing sea view.

It’s a newly built house, characterized by 11 sleeps, tidy outdoor spaces and an important 18x7 metres swimming pool.

The well-finished interiors offer a modern design and all the comforts of a prestigious house.

At the ground floor is a large open-space living room with a refined kitchen, dining area and lounge with tv, sofa and fireplace.
Here are an elegant master bedroom, a twin room and a single room.
The functional bathroom has a cubicle shower.

Two comfortable double bedrooms and a spacious bath with tub and shower are situated at the basement level.

On the first floor the cozy double room with walk-in closet, is provided with ensuite whirlpool shower bath and a private balcony with a stunning panorama over Polignano a Mare and the Adriatic coast.

Villa Maria, embellished by gardens and lawns, has a fantastic sea view nestling in the Apulian countryside, far away from the hustle and bustle of every day life, even if it’s only a short distance from town centre.

Outside there are several areas:
A large veranda allows the guests to have meals in the open air and find their own relaxing space and enjoying cool breezes in a rural atmosphere.
Set in the green of the Mediterranean maquis, the pool area is the ideal retreat where to refresh by the pool and get rest in the shade of the gazebo.

Barbecue, wood fired oven, and lavabo are also available in the barbecue patio under a white pergola.

Villa Maria can accommodate up to 11 people and it’s particularly suitable for groups of families and friends.

Villa Maria is a perfect starting point for your holidays in Puglia; it’s only a short distance from the most popular tourist attractions such as Castellana Caves, Trulli in Alberobello, Monopoli sandy beaches and old town,
the capital of the region Bari and the typical villages in Valle d’Itria (Locorotondo, Cisternino, Martina Franca, and Ostuni).

Bad things: This house is rented by an agency which makes the process "much colder". We believe that this type of policy goes against the expected philosophy of airbnb where you expect a more personal relation, with the host showing proudly his property, explaining the secrets, places to see, what to do and eat, etc. This is not the case. An agent shows the house in 10 min, explains the rules and give you the keys. That's all. On the other side, there are SEVERAL of "hidden costs" that increase the final bill though it was stated in small letters in the contract with the agency (different from airbnb contract !!!): final cleaning is compulsory and has to be paid a part (150 eur). If you want sheets and towels you have to pay 10 eur x person x week (Who travels with his own sheets and toilet towels??)... Electricity consumption is also paid apart: 0,35 eur Kwh consumed. For a "normal" weekly electricity use, calculate between 200 and 300 extra eur x week. This electricity bill includes everything (swimming pool cleaning machines consumption, air conditioning, cleaning machines, lights, etc). And also add the 350 eur deposit... returned back at leaving time after discounting the electricity. Also, the agent at leaving time had no change (¿¿??). ALL this "hidden" costs should be included in the rent price from the very beginning in the airbnb solution. Other things: - No potable water for drink: only for cooking and showers... It seems this is a common fact in south Italy. - Most furniture is ikea brand... we expect a better quality for this kind of villa. - Massage showers lost a lot of water outside (they do not close ok). - Fridge does not cold as expected... thus we had to throw away 2 kg of meat in a bad state due to bad conservation. We told this to the owner and agency and the answer was "it's normal, it's too hot outside this days" (up to 30º too hot ???)... No basic equipment included: no WC paper, kitchen paper, oil, no cleaning tools or material, etc. You have to bring all on your own. Good things: The location is perfect for Polignano. You can go walking (2 km) to the center. Better option is to go to Penny Market and park there, and then walk to the center. The 18 mts swimming pool is really great. The best thing without doubt. It has night lights, a "trampoline". Congratulations for it. NOTE: It also has a "Jacuzzi" zone, but it was not available. The basement has a pingpong table and a relax zone: great for the kids. The indoor /outside design was correct. The kitchen area is good for work, though it could be better equipped (no toast machine, etc). The barbecue area was great and well equipped. In general, peaceful stay though some motocross or similar noise was always surrounding....

Had a great time in this spacious property with 5 girlfriends. The pool wasn't open as it was too early in the season but it was certainly a decent size (and very deep at one end). It's lovely and quiet, with it's own automatic gate so I imagine if you're travelling with kids this would be a bonus. It's 2km walk to the waterfront in town (1km to the edge of town). A very easy walk although the first part has no real footpath. It was clean and well presented and there are plenty of outdoor spaces in the shade. Lovely and quiet at night too as it's off the main road. Polignano a Mare is a beautiful town and now that I'm back at my office desk writing this, all I want to do is get back there as soon as possible. The locals were friendly, the Bellinis were cheap, and I thought the villa was great value for money. All in all, a top holiday.

Great house for families sharing. We were a party consisting of 3 small families, the 3 levels of accommodation afforded us lots of space. The pool was fantastic and bbq/ pizza oven facilities made for fun evenings. Alesandro was very responsive and helpful, providing us with both Pizza pallet and table tennis bats upon request. Pogliano is a beautiful little town, with plenty to offer.

Thank you Mimmo for an enjoyable stay. Our family loved the swimming pool and access to the lights which you so kindly gave us. The house was ideal for ten of us

The villa is absolutely amazing! Huge pool, new appliances, lots of parking, sea view, located in a quite area outside Polignano a Mare, and everything is maintained in excellent conditions. Alessandro, the host from SweetHomes reality-the managing company was very accommodating and helpful. He brought us internet modem/router at our request and was available at anytime for any problems. One time the battery from the remote control from the entrance gate died, so the owner- Maria, came in 10 minutes and fixed the problem. The only issues is that it doesn't have an official address and it is hard to find using GPS or (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps, also there is no land internet and only a phone router can be available. Otherwise an excellent place for family vacations. We will come back again and highly recommend this villa to everyone!
