Easy Scenic walk to both Harvard and Porters Sq in Cambridge. Long-term stay in a comfortable, well-equipped, homey and welcoming apartment close to all of Cambridge's best attractions: vibrant Harvard Square, the magnificent Charles River, historic Brattle St, and Charles river.

The space

This is not an apartment primarily occupied by renters/owners and then vacated for guests - it is a dedicated guest apartment and as such, it is clean and uncluttered and you won't feel as if you are invading someone else's space.

Picture this: You’ve strolled the tree-lined streets of Cambridge. You’ve had some delicious food from one of the many, many excellent restaurants in the area. You’ve browsed the aisles of the Harvard Book Store, had some coffee, people watched, maybe gone on a local history tour. Now it's time to come home to an apartment so cosy, so comfortable, so quiet that you will immediately kick off your shoes and say “Aaaah...”

Sink into the couch, take a nap, watch a movie, read a little, have something to drink, maybe listen to some music while you figure out whether you are eating in or out (there is a Wholefoods Store only 5 minutes away by car, 10 minutes by bus.)

If the weather is nice, sit outside in the garden courtyard with a cup of coffee and feel the sun on your face.

The apartment is 750 sq. ft. The building has three floors and the apartment is on the top floor. It has two bedrooms. Bedroom one has a Queen size bed with luxurious sheets and a down comforter. Bedroom two has a day bed and a desk in case you need to get some work done. There is ample closet space in both bedrooms.

The kitchen is brand new and gleaming with all new appliances and stocked with all the cooking essentials (spices, condiments, pots and pans, flatware, cutlery etc.)

The bathroom is squeaky clean and has a shower and nice tub and some wonderful luxurious, fluffy towels for your use.

Guest Access

Guests have access to the entire apartment. Unfortunately the apartment is not handicapped accessible. There is a washer and dryer in the basement of the building.

Interaction with Guests

I will meet guests to hand over keys, answer any questions, address any concerns, or make suggestions about places to go, ways to get there etc.

The Neighborhood

This is a very comfortable apartment. Rooms are spacious and the apartment is equipped with everything that is needed. Big food market is a bit far if you do not have a car but there is a near by convenience store and bakery.

The location of this apartment was a highlight - easy walk to Harvard Square ad other shopping and dining precincts. Also a great place for running - around Fresh Pond or down to the Charles River. Andrew was very accomodating, and any small issues were deal with promptly and efficiently. Great wifi. Very secure. Quiet. Would highly recommend it

I loved this place. The apartment itself is a great space. Perfect size- big, but not lonely. Well equipped- kitchen has great appliances, bathroom is fully functional and shower has great water pressure. Cozy- you get sunlight at all times of the day, and there's a courtyard outside which is lovely. The location is ideal. Safe, quiet, two minutes from a convenience store, and a short and pleasant walk from Harvard Square. Initially, I had concerns that we would be too far from Harvard, but being away from the tourists was a real blessing. If you want to get out of town, there's easy access to the highway. Andrew was fantastic host. We were there for 8 months, and although there were a few small issues (inevitable, given the length of time we were there) they were all resolved very quickly. He was always easy to get in touch with and happy to help. There is only one reason I feel I cannot give a five star rating- when we first arrived, the apartment was very much in need of a proper cleaning. We spent the first few days there cleaning absolutely everything, from the ceiling fans (which has a inch of dust on them) to the silverware. There was trash under the sofa. Everything was sticky. It's hard to say whether this is because of the previous tenants (who may have had different standards of cleanliness to us), or Andrew (who may not have put enough effort in to making sure the apartment was clean before we moved in). It looked to us as if it hadn't had a deep clean in years. Having said that, it is now very clean! And with that in mind, I highly recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Cambridge for a while. The apartment has some serious charm, and I'd be surprised if anyone didn't like it.

We spent four weeks in this apartment. We felt like at home from the first minute. The photos describe the apartment very accurately. It's cozy, furnished in a kind of academic style. Kitchen has all the necessary equipment (large and powerful oven, gas hobs, microwave, dishwasher, small toasting oven, large fridge), all the necessary dishes. The living room has a large sofa, a TV set, a small book case and other furniture. The master bedroom has a comfortable bed and lots of storage space for clothes. Te second bedroom has a single bed and an "office" corner, as depicted on the pictures. I found the second bedroom particularly nice. The apartment has a very nice location. You can walk to Harvard square in about 15 minutes. In just a block away there is an intersection with a small (but very good) cafe (Sarah's -- I recommend the omelettes there), a very good pizzeria and some other eating places. There is a large park in just about 5 minutes walking distance. The house lies in a small lush courtyard where you can sit outside in the evening. I recommend the apartment to anybody who has a chance to book it

100% recomendable.

Academic prof at one of the colleges in Cambridge has an extra condo dedicated to airbnb guests. My girlfriend, who is German and myself love to travel all over the world to experience different peoples and cultures. We live in Cambridge not far from the units and absolutely love the neighborhood. We would love to host you in this very cosy space, tastely decorated and furnished condo that used to call our primary home.
