Enjoy hilltop ocean and river views from our beautifully decorated Mexican villa. You can BBQ carne asada or try your hand at wood fired pizza with our outdoor oven. It sleeps seven and is a few minutes walk to the beach. Perfect for families!

The space

This is easily the nicest property on the hill, not the cheapest just the best. Close to the famous La Fonda restaurant and the Guadalupe wine valley this community is well known for its silent nights, dreamy days, and amazing river/ocean views. La mission has the nicest beach for hundreds of miles (similar to Blacks beach in San Diego)- walk down our private winding dirt road to ride horses or swim, yet sleep above the pacific fog and noise. The hill is the best of both worlds!

Guest access

Outdoor kitchen and many patios frame your perfect weekend in Playa La Mision. Internet, Full kitchen, DVD, fully furnished house- perfect for a family!

Interaction with guests

We are not here over the summer, enjoy your privacy!

Other things to note

Great fenced yard for a dog, but no cats and please keep your (big) dog outside. Contact us first to ask!

This house is really beautiful. Large living room with views of the river and the ocean, large dining area above that. Kitchen was fully equipped and filled with spices, etc and windows facing the ocean! Nice outdoor area with firepit and same views. Easy walk to the beach. Downsides: The host sent us an email while we were driving down that he would be unavailable by email or cell phone as he and his family were going camping. The next day, all the plumbing under the kitchen sink fell off and into the bucket underneath it. (Bucket there since we found out the same thing had happened the week before and they thought it was fixed.) Would have been good if we could have contacted Dave right away. Another minor point: we assumed from the description that there was a master bedroom with a queen bed, but in reality, in addition to the two kids rooms with very comfortable bunk beds, the third "bedroom" was the lovely den with a fold out futon sofa and French doors separating it from the dining room. The house does not have central heating (as is typical in that area) and for the unusually cold weather we had, the single portable gas heater did not heat everything. Once Dave got in touch with us by email on our last day, he and his wife were friendly and offered to send out a handyman for kitchen sink, but it was too late. We were leaving that day. All together, though, we had an excellent stay in this beautiful home.

Dave's place was awesome! Hands down the best view and outdoor living space- fire pit, grill, places to lay out and read. We will definitely be back!

Dave's house was beautiful! There was plenty of space for our group of seven. We loved drinking coffee in the morning in the courtyard overlooking the beach and valley, and the location was convenient for heading in to Ensenada and the Valle de Guadalupe wine route. Highly recommended!

Dave was a great host! Even though he was away traveling with his family he was available to answer all of my questions via email! He even answered my phone call! His "Mexican Villa" is so beautiful and offered everything and then some. We will definitely be back to make more wonderful memories with our family and friends!

Dave's house was very comfortable for the four of us, clean and nicely decorated with Mexican themes. The succulents patio was our favorite place as it overlooked the river estuary to the south and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The grill and pizza oven alongside a bar in the patio allowed us to enjoy early morning coffee and evening drinks by fire pit or while grilling. The house is tastefully furnished and you will find everything you need. Plenty of kitchen utensils and even a water cooler in the kitchen that overlooked the Pacific. Access to the public beach, La Mision, was a 10-minute walk although Clam Beach, a 10-minute drive to the south, is a better choice if you like a clean beach in spite of the U$S 20 daily use fee. At La Mision beach you will find plenty of vendors and, as a public beach, people and horses litter and is not well maintained. Regarding horses, you can them for U$S 20 an hour but do not expect to gallop. We drove to Ensenada one day and to the Valle de Guadalupe Wine Country on another day, both 30-40 minute drives. We visited the wine museum and had a wonderful lunch at the Finca Altozano Restaurant, one kilometer from the main road near the museum. Although I did not speak to Dave, he was very helpful and responsive providing ample details to all our questions via email. I will definitely return to Dave's place.

Dave's place was perfect for us and our two year old! We were a short walk away from the beach, 20 minutes to amazing wine country, 20 minutes to Ensenada. The view from the living room and the terraces is really quite spectacular. Bedrooms are comfortable, kitchen has everything you need. Dave was super easy to get in contact with, always responding right away. The neighborhood is a gated community so we felt very safe and enjoyed walking around the neighborhood in the early evening. Neighbors were very friendly. We plan on coming back and bringing friends!

I run an apparel brand from Mexico and stay busy with my kids and my many hobbies! We are out and about quite a bit, so renters usually have the place pretty much to themselves. We are fun when we are around though!
