The apartment is situated in a monumental canal house on the Prinsengracht with an amazing view. Around the corner from the utrechtsestraat in the most popular neighborhood of Amsterdam center, only a 5 to 10 minute walk to any of the mayor sights in Amsterdam.

The space

The apartment is filled with natural light and has one of the most amazing views over the canal. Colorful and personal decorated and coverd with diverse art and a balcony on the Sunny Side, it is a home away from home.

Guest access

All spaces are accessible except for one closet situated in the hallway.

Interaction with guests

By e mail or phone I'm always easy to be reached for quetions or help and my mother lives next door so assistance is always near.

Other things to note

During queens day and the gay parade the canal is literally packed with people and the boats and concerts on and across the canal provide for a lot of sound/ noise. But from the apartment you have one of the best views over the festivities.

Wireless Internet

House Rules

No strangers are allowed in the apartment, thought for the neighbours regarding noise is required. No drugs allowed. Taking care of the house as you should take care of your own is expected.

Leyla's place is a diamond of amsterdam. The interior decorating is stylish and eclectic and shows all the sophistication we found to be characteristic of amsterdam. It's location couldn't be better, around the corner from excellent cafes, flower shops and her detailed guide/suggestions show how much the city has to offer. Her kitchen is perfect for in home cooking if you wanted to and we loved the cosy fire and option to unwind with a little tv or read some of her great books. It has a beautiful view from the balcony in the bedroom and also in the living room to the canals. All in all a very special find & quintessential amsterdam.

We loved our week stay in Amsterdam at Leyla's apartment. It is a perfect location on the Prinsengracht overlooking the canal, with a great view. The area is not too touristy which we really enjoyed. There were many great restaurants, cheese shops, wine stores, and lovely shops close by. We walked everywhere and visited many local museums and galleries. We arrived early, but Leyla was ready for us and provided us with a really good list of restaurants, shopping areas and grocery stores and explained everything we needed to know about the apartment. The apartment itself is very spacious with a good bed, very nice bathroom, laundry facilities, a wonderful fireplace, relaxing outside deck and a very good kitchen not to mention a spacious living room and dining room. Leyla has decorated the apartment with amazing style and it really felt like a home. We loved it and would stay there again for sure.

We had a wonderful time in Leyla's apartment. She is the perfect host - we could not have been at a better place. From the very first moment we felt welcome and felt at home. We I truly enjoyed being able to stay in her beautiful apartment with a perfect view, but still it is extremely quiet, so highly recommendable! Leyla was kind enough to give exact directions for arrival and answered all our questions regarding rental of bikes. She also had the most comprehensive list of restaurants ready for us in the apartment. Unfortunately we only had 4 nights in Amsterdam, we definitely could have stayed longer! Thank you for everything!!

This is an incredible place. The flat itself is spacious and beautifully appointed. I'm not sure it gets much better than staying in an historic monument house overlooking a canal that's been beautifully updated w/ modern comforts. And, the location is perfect. It's in a less touristy part of central Amsterdam right off the #4 tram to/from central station and only a leisurely stroll from the Museumplein, Plantage, De Pijp, etc. Plus, it's around the corner from some of the best cheese shops, pastry shops, butchers, bars/cafes, and restaurants in the city. The only thing more amazing than the place itself is Leyla, who is simply awesome. It was the most seamless Airbnb experience I've had. It was almost like living in my own home - except on a canal in Amsterdam!

A very well equipped apartment with all modern conveniences in a wonderful old house. I loved the view of the "Prinsengracht" from the livingroom window. And as the weather was cold we also enjoyed the fireplace a lot in the evenings. The location is excellent: It is only 2 minutes away from the tram station and the supermarket, shops and restaurants are just around the corner. It is also easy to walk to many tourist places, like Van Gogh museum, Vondelpark, Westerkerk, ... Although the apartment is right in the middle of the tourist area, it is very quiet, as the sleepingroom is at the back.

Wow, we had an absolutely lovely 3 day stay at Leyla's place! Leyla is an amazing host, quick to respond to any questions and proactive about any way she can improve your stay. We needed a pretty late check in and a very early check out, both of which were easily accommodated. She even offered to meet us at the tram stop and came and find us when we got off at the wrong stop very late at night! From the second we got to her place we knew we had booked a gem. She had snacks, wine, the fireplace going, relaxing music, and all candles lit! We never mentioned this to her, but we were actually celebrating an anniversary that weekend so walking in to all of that was perfection! Her place is incredibly charming, very tasty decorated with modern touches. The was even a very nice bath tub with bath soaps, candles and two clean white robes! The bed was also super comfy with a nice bright courtyard view which you can also enjoy from the balcony. To top it all off, her place has an amazing canal view from large windows in the kitchen and dining space! It was very exciting to pass by it while on our dinner cruise of the canal which speaks to it's location. It's an easy walk to ask major attractions as well as utrechtsestraat (a street with lots of restaurants and shops). We had everything we needed and more for a nice romantic weekend stay in Amsterdam, thanks again Leyla!!
