Madeira In Fife is a tranquil place near the pretty fishing village of Pittenweem. The cottages are recently refurbished, have gardens, parking and its an easy walk to the village shops, pubs and cafes.
We are close St Andrews, and glorious beaches

The space

One of five terraced cottages. This cottage sleeps two people in either a twin or double, with the use of a sofa bed. They are an ideal place to relax in and enjoy the local area. Each cottage has a living/kitchen area, a bedroom and bathroom plus a table and chairs on the terrace outside.

Guest access

Guests can wander round the Madeira gardens and have access to a BBQ should they want it

Interaction with guests

Jamie and I are on site but will very much leave you alone unless you need something in which case we can help at a moments notice

Other things to note

There are other interesting places to visit locally like Kelly Castle with its beautiful gardens, the Chain Walk in Elie, the blue flag beaches all along the coast, Cambo House and much more. All these things are 20 mins or less in the car.

Our stay was simply great. The cottage was really well appointed, cozy and clean. And as hosts Jamie and Tara were wonderful and really, really helpful . Huge thanks. We will definitely recommend to friends and return ourselves.

We booked the cottage for 3 nights just to get a bit of peace and quiet, which is exactly what we got. The area itself is lovely and remote and the cottage has a homely feel to it as well. Jamie was away with his family however responded with dog friendly places to go for food/drinks at my request and provided alternative details if we needed anything while we were there. We didn’t need to get in touch after that, there is a folder with some info in the cottage too but everything you need is there. There are places that you can reach easily by foot otherwise lovely places such as Crail or Elie are about 7mins in the car. There is 1 bedroom, bathroom with a shower which is accessed through the bedroom then an open plan living area/kitchen/dining table. While the sofa can be made up into a bed, I would always just go the two of us as it would feel a bit busy for me with 4 people unless just using it more for a base. I’m glad we found this place and would happily use it again.

Response from Jamie:
Hi Simone. Thanks for your nice comments. I am sorry about the confusion over the size of the cottage. I think it is clear but I will take a look to see if I can make it clearer. I am really sorry about the shower. That is unacceptable and I will pass this on to the cleaning team and maybe carry out some inspections. I am really sorry.

Great little place to explore the East Neuk, our cottage was very comfortable, very clean and cosy! We had everything we needed, although hosts came to introduce themselves and were on hand if we required them (we didn't). The cottage itself was absolutely delightful, and the grounds were very well kept and private. Lots of helpful information for visitors about the local area including places to visit, shops and food recommendations. A lovely short walk along a quiet road into Pittenweem and the other towns of the East Neuk were just a short drive away. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cosy bolthole in this part of the country and would definitely go back!
