Just 1 block from Restaurant Row. Highly walkable with easy access to the #2 bus line. Incredibly charming home with a friendly host, adorable Golden Retriever, chatty kitty and all the restaurant and hiking guides you could ever want. Discount code for Biketown bikes!

The house is literally a block and a half to dozens of desirable restaurants and cafes. I do not provide food or beverages. You are welcome to bring in beer, wine and use my coffee maker.

The space
Comfy private room in SE Portland cottage with shared bath. I have a great little home just a block and a half from the thriving foodie district on SE Division. The neighborhood is super walkable -- just 10 blocks to the famed Seven Corners New Seasons and 3 blocks from legendary Pok Pok.

Your room has a high-end, super comfy queen sized bed, and the room is decorated with an eclectic mix of modern and antique. My home is a charming 1910 bungalow that is divided into a duplex. I live in the downstairs unit which is about 950 sf. (Please note that this is a small home, and my bedroom is just inches away from yours. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, this is not the right place. I am fully supportive of people having a vibrant sex life, but my home is not the best place for that.)

The shared bathroom has beautiful glass tile work and a porcelain pedestal sink. My kitchen is homey and includes a cute vintage stove.

You're welcome to keep food in my refrigerator, but I recommend that you check out all the nearby cafes and restaurants instead. I'd prefer that you not plan on preparing meals here. There's a little coffee maker in the kitchen if you want to bring your own coffee. I have filters.

The front porch has 2 Adirondack chairs and the backyard has a patio table complete with umbrella for hanging out on a sunny evening. (Summer in Oregon starts July 5, in case you haven't heard.)

My cat Chica is very social and my Golden is very affectionate so if you're not into animals, this probably isn't the right place for you. I've been told by a few guests that my cat's meowing in the early morning is an unappreciated alarm clock. This can be solved by feeding her if I'm not around for some reason. Update: as I continue to host more and more on Airbnb, my cat seems to love my guests more and more...and she prefers them to me. So if you aren't into cats, this may not be the best place for you :)

Easy access to public transportation (lines 4 and 14) and easy on street parking. It's about a 15-20 minute ride to downtown Portland. Transportation from the airport: $35 cab ride or one hour by train/bus.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to enjoy the common living area, porch and backyard. My kitchen is spacious, and you are welcome to keep stuff in the fridge, but I find that most of my guests eat out every meal given the incredible location in the middle of Foodieville!

Other things to note
I have a really adorable dog named Florie. She's a friendly Golden Retriever, and she'll be very excited to see you. My cat Chica will want you to feed her when I'm not around, and that is highly encouraged! You will find her food in the cabinet to the left of the fridge. Give her a tablespoon or so of food to quiet her down. Her food bowl is on the countertop to the right of the sink (out of reach of the dog.)

My home is a 1910 bungalow that is divided into a duplex. I live in the downstairs unit which is about 950 sf. My neighbor Jason lives upstairs and is really easy going. You may not see him or you may run into each other on the front porch. He's very friendly.

Because my house is over 100 years old, there are a lot of charms and sweet features. There are also some realities of an older house like squeaky wood floors and a bathroom door with a creaky door knob.

My house is small, so I keep stuff in all the small closets. I will need to access your room occasionally to get stuff. I usually do this in the evening when my guests are out. I will, of course, be very respectful of your space and will always ask you before coming into the room!

Due to ongoing theft problems in the neighborhood, I'd recommend you not leave stuff in your cars overnight.

Richmond was named in Sunset magazine as one of the best neighborhoods in the west. It is really booming now. New restaurants and cafes every day, it seems. Very walkable and friendly.

If you're reading about Portland, you'll find the area referred to as Clinton/Division or Restaurant Row. I'm just 10 blocks from the Hawthorne District.

I love living in Portland. I feel so fortunate to be part of a vibrant community. I am the co-founder of a nonprofit business organization that is working on issues of affordable and stable housing, safe transportation and economic development. I'm so fortunate to live in a really fun neighborhood -- Clinton/Division (also called Richmond) -- the home of some of Portland's greatest restaurants including Nuestra Cocina, Pok Pok, Whiskey Soda Lounge and more! Do not miss the SE Wine Collective on SE 35th/Division! As a single woman living with a dog and cat, I tend to spend a lot of evenings out on the town with friends or hosting friends on my back patio. I'm a warm and kind person and love sharing information about my city (as well as nearby hiking trails) with folks who are new to town. If you're looking to move to Portland, I have a great network of folks you can meet either for job hunting or real estate options.

During your stay
I'm the co-founder of a young nonprofit organization and have a very busy schedule, so I'm usually coming and going, and when I'm home, I'm usually working. I'm happy to provide guidance for your stay in Portland -- I love sharing highlights about my town! -- but you're free to go your own way, too. Feel free to ask me about Portland as well as day trips to the coast and mountains. I love to play travel agent!

The bathroom is shared. This is usually not a problem for anyone. Typically, my guests are on vacation and are on a pretty flexible schedule, and I am off to work in the mornings. It's inevitable that there will be times when we'll want to be in the bathroom at roughly the same time. I find that chatting the evening before about the next day's schedule is a pretty easy way to avoid most scheduling conflicts.

My house is small, so I keep stuff in all the small closets including the one in your room. I will need to access your room occasionally to get stuff. I usually do this in the evening when my guests are out. I will, of course, be very respectful of your space and will always ask you before coming into the room!
