I've spent 2 days at Huyen's homestay but she was away on this week-end so she put me in touch with her cousin, Ms Trang. I tried to make it convenient for her as she seemed really busy so I offered her to come either on morning or afternoon to drop my luggage but this made it just more complicated and after many calls on the phone she just asked the housekeeper to wait for me to give me the keys and in the end it was ok. The room was ok : provided with aircon, clean bed sheet, etc. It took me a while to notice that the only electrical plugs that work correctly are the ones behind the tv. The bathroom was not so clean, but maybe because I arrived early and the housekeeper needed more time to clean it. On my departure, Ms Trang was there to take the keys back and she even provided me tips and links in looking for a job in Vietnam.

It was a great experience from booking up to my last day in Hanoi. When I was deciding where to stay in Hanoi, Huyen was very patient answering all my queries about the place and Hanoi in general. She was very helpful and gave me tips and pointers. Booking was a breeze. Huyen shared with me the address (understood by locals) that I need to show to the taxi driver. The place was very clean with her cousin Trang keeping me abreast with the cleaner's schedules. Overall, I would recommend staying in Huyen's place if you want to stay away from the busy Old Quarter. The area is accessible to many food spots. The place is also a few steps away from a very nice coffee shop. I'll definitely stay here again should I have the chance to go back to Hanoi.
