Interaction with guests
As much or as little as you like. My husband and I are both medical professionals who work long hours but are happy to serve as a resource to the area.
Other things to note
Street parking is available directly in front of the house during the day. Our block has an overnight parking permit requirement (from 6pm - 6am) but there is free street parking available 24/7 just around the corner.
Please note that the topography of Manayunk is such that we are a downhill walk to Main St. but an uphill "hike" back to the house (there is a long staircase that takes you directly from the front of our house to Main St and the train station). Most people don't mind the added exercise and justify dessert or that extra beer! I highly recommend conducting an online map search prior to booking to get a sense of the topography and our location in relation to sites/places you might be interested in visiting so there are no surprises when you arrive.
Due to our work schedules, we are early-to-bed, early-to-rise individuals and thus cannot accommodate long-term guests who are night owls or regularly returning past 10pm as the guest room is directly above our bedroom.
I am fluent in German and well versed in French and Dutch. We are avid cyclists and welcome fellow cyclists and their bikes.
No smoking or drugs of any kind. Please remove shoes upon entry (we offer house slippers to our guests). If coming in late, we ask that are respectful of those sleeping and keep the TV volume low.
