"Ask for Seasonal Discounts(URL HIDDEN) Small but perfectly formed and beautiful Caribbean Cottage situated at upmarket region of Cap Estate in St Lucia, overlooking 18 hole championship golf course + fabulous views especially at sunset from the verandah towards Caribbean sea and a short drive to both Atlantic and Caribbean beaches. This gorgeous and well maintained house is set in its own tropical garden and has a lovely pool.

The space

A Small but perfectly formed Caribbean Cottage situated at Cap Estate within easy reach of an 18 hole championship golf course and a short drive to both Atlantic and Caribbean beaches.

You enter this lovely, stylish refurbished house through a walkway, surrounded by gingerlillies and coconut palm trees, into an L shaped living area with large louver doors running the entire length of one wall in the living room and these open out onto a high level veranda overlooking the golf course and the Caribbean Sea. Here guests can relax in a planters chair and enjoy the most stunning sunset views while experiencing alfresco dining. Kitchen is modern and well equipped and opens onto a breakfast bar.

Downstairs are two air conditioned double bedrooms and two shower rooms. Bedroom 1 has two single beds which can be made up as a King size bed, a walk in closet with room safe and en suite shower room. Bedroom 2 has a Queen Size bed and an adjacent shower room.

Both bedrooms open through glass sliding doors onto a small private terrace and from here to the swimming pool and sun deck. The pool is 10 ft by 16ft rectangular and is surrounded by a 5ft deck.

The garden has been landscaped and is fully planted with tropical flowers and fruit trees. The house is secured at the entrances by burglar bar doors + burglar alarm monitored and responded by guardsman.

Housekeeper comes Monday - Friday 8.30 am to 3.30 pm

Villa D'Arcy is a fantastic villa, well equipped, very quiet and very private. The perfect place to get away from it all, I would recommend a stay here to anyone.

Alot of work needs to be done on the stairs they have temporary repairs done badly and deck furniture lacking no table for snacks or drinks available. The pool was small but worked ok for two people or parent w small children, not really good if you want to swim. The pots on deck crave real care and attention as did all the landscaping. Found it overpriced compared w the othe three Airbnb villas we stayed at during or 3 weeks on the island.

Teresa, I shall take some of your feedback on board and have already ordered a pool deck table for snacks and drinks. The pool size and measurements are accurately mentioned in the description of the property on the airbnb site as well as the location of the house and I always highly recommend car rental to guests ( even though beaches, shops, restaurants are just a short drive from Villa D'Arcy) - presently StLucia is in the mids of tropical dry season and indeed plants wilt very quickly at this time of year especially at Cap Estate. You stayed during the Easter weekend and our gardeners were not on duty.

The pre-visit information was fully matched by our experience of Vill D'Arcy. It was great to stay in a traditional Caribbean home which also had all the necessary mod cons to make our stay comfortable and relaxing Illtyd, our concierge based at Tropical Villas, was really helpful, taking us to the villa on our arrival, booking excursions and taxis and introducing us to the way things would work over Christmas and the New Year. She kept contact by phone throughout our stay making us feel very well cared for. Marietta, our housekeeper, was also great. She cooked us a delightful fish dish for our evening meal on arrival, cooked other things through our stay, came shopping with us to get the right ingredients for her dishes, kept the villa very clean and tidy and was such a pleasant person . She and Illtyd really contributed to the overall positive experience. The villa is very well positioned in the Cap Estate. The views from the balcony are great as the villa looks out across the valley and over the golf course towards the sea. We spent many happy hours just taking in this view. We were also able to watch two lots of New Year fireworks from the balcony - a real treat. The swimming pool kept our teenage daughters very happy even though it is not large. A supermarket is 10 min drive away in Gros Islet. There are great restaurants nearby ranging from the 'traditional’ (Jambe de Bois on Pigeon Island) to the 'international' (Windsong at Calabash Cove). A car is a necessity - but driving in St Lucia is not very demanding (though the road surfaces sometimes are!).

Villa D'arcy is a charmingly appointed home with loads of space and privacy by the truckload. It is so very quiet there, a beautiful place to sit on the deck watching the magnificent cinema at is the daily sunset. The pool is big enough for a cool off, although of course in July is warm rather than icy because of the sun exposure. It's clean and well maintained and does the job nicely! The kitchen is well stocked with coffee maker, blender and good crockery and cutlery and utensils, so any easy place to cook if you're inspired. Amazing gas cooker too, with a large fridge and very large washing machine. Both bedrooms have A/C which makes for a very decent nights sleep. Upstairs doesn't have A/C which makes it hot, but there is a ceiling fan and a floor stand fan which makes it bearable. We found it better to close the doors early to keep the munchies out. If you're staying here and want to explore the island, you will need a car and make it a 4WD. Many of the roads on SL are poor with some being almost inaccessible. There are plenty of good places to eat in Rodney Bay, about 15 minutes drive away. The traffic on that road can be bad, especially on a Saturday night so plan for a queue if going out! The bed was quite comfortable, soft and surrounded by a mosquito net which made for restful sleep. The double bed is in the smaller room, so we used one as a dressing room. The 2nd room has a walk-in robe and own bathroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Although July can be rainy, in the Caribbean it's tropical so doesn't last for long and doesn't make the day miserable. Highly recommend a getaway here.

Anneke was very prompt with her responses and very helpful. The property is delightful with a great view, comfy beds and a perfect little pool. Marietta, the housekeeper is wonderful to talk with and very helpful. The house is very secure and the balcony is wonderful. It's just close enough to Gros Islet and Rodney Bay (a 5 minute drive) while still being nice and private.
