The room and house were great, and location was fantastic (once you were able to find the place)! It would be nice to have a way to get the parking permit PRIOR to check in (so you don't need to worry about 15 min parking on the busiest street in PTown, where there should be no parking)!

Response from Peter And Mauricio:
Thanks for your review Derek. It's funny how some people really want to be in the center of town but don't want the center of town crowds. You can't have both. My suggestion would be to get a place outside of the center of town. I do send an email with arrival information to help with the stress of arriving on the busiest street in town. It's a good thing to read that too.

Peter was very communicative throughout the booking process, although we did not meet him at The Captain's House. Mauricio was a fantastic host. He let us leave our bags at the bnb before check-in and after check-out and provided a delicious continental breakfast each morning. There were good vibes all throughout the house, too (guests were clean and friendly). We loved the place and would stay again.

The Captain's House is right in the middle of everything happening in Provincetown, but is also set back from the road enough that it is pretty quiet. It is great for singles or couples. We had a room with a shared bath (there are 2 bathrooms available) and never had to wait. The bathrooms were very clean and well-maintained. The room was well maintained and had a very comfortable bed, and pillows. The one thing is that there was an AC unit in the room but it didn't seem to cool the room down much. And it would have been nice to arrive to a room that was not stiflingly hot. It was about 84 degrees in there when we arrived. I had hoped to take a nap upon arrival but it was just way too hot. We left the AC on and went for a walk and 2 hours later the temp. was still at about 80 degrees and pretty stifling. Honestly a window fan would have made it more comfortable. Mauricio was a bit stiff and unwelcoming (he said, "we're very particular here" and scolded me for sitting on the arm of the sofa). But Peter was very nice and friendly. Peter should interact with the guests more and Mauricio should, perhaps, stay behind the scenes. The continental breakfast was fine - nothing spectacular. The coffee and OJ were above average.

Thanks for the honest review. That's very helpful. We would have liked to have had the opportunity to show you how the a/c works. They actually very efficient units and usually work quickly. It's true, Mauricio is a bit stiff and seems serious, but he is the one that keeps the place super duper clean and also makes sure that sofa's don't break when people sit on them improperly. it was a pleasure to met you both and hope you return!

Another fantastic stay at The Captains House! Peter and Mauricio are really great hosts. The house is very welcoming.. complete with gorgeous clipper ship paintings on nearly every wall ! In the morning count on hot coffee and fresh cut fruit with Mauricio's home made granola that will drive you mad! (Just one more helping...) I'll be your booty!

Peter and Mauricio's guest house was perfect for us. Peter and Mauricio were excellent hosts. They were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was perfect for our stay. It was incredibly clean and well appointed. The shared bath arrangement worked out fine. The bathrooms were spotless and we never had a wait. Their location is second to none. They are one block east of the wharf. It was easy to walk to anywhere in town from their place.

Peter and Mauricio were extremely accommodating. Our check in time was later than expected and they had no problem getting us settled in as soon as we arrived. They were friendly, clean and their home could not have been more centrally located to all the fun! Would absolutely stay with them again.

This is our 6th season running The Captain's House (TCH1) Bed and Breakfast. Peter takes care of reservations and works full-time in Boston as a Visual Effects Artist for TV Commercials. Mauricio takes care of everything else (baking, cleaning, building, etc...). In June of 2016 we bought our 2nd Bnb in Provincetown called The Chicago House. TCH2 is also in the center of town.
