This is our summerhouse that is situated on a car free island 50 min from the city center. It is easy accessible by Waxholmsferry or by neighbours that take you in their private boat for a small fee appr 15 Euro return. There is no car accessibility! It is "in the middle of nowhere" and even if everything works fine you might experience small issues, and as it is a bit remote it might take time to fix. However, the nature and tranquility is always there. THIS IS A WIFI FREE ZONE. Welcome!

The space

The house is simple but comfortable. The bedroom has two 90cm beds and serve as a double, but can also be separated. In the smaller bedroom there is a 120 cm bed. There is summer water in the house, a washing machine, a dishwasher, but there is no water toilet. We use a modern dry toilet that has to be emptied before leaving. It is an easy almost closed system. The guests that like the house most are the ones enjoying the sunset and the view as well as exploring th little island and it´s neighbors by ferry. We like our guests to have a great time, however it is situated on an island. If things break there might not be possible to arrange for it's immediate repair.

Guest access

The house is all yours. There is a small guesthouse just behind the house. It can be used after agreement. This house we keep for ourselves if we need to come out to the island for any reason.

Interaction with guests

I will be available over the phone before and during your stay.

We spent a few days in Roberts house during a journey through Sweden. The house is very well equipped, comfortable and beautiful located on a plateau with a stunning view over the sea and the ferry boats passing by. What we enjoyed a lot was the calm and nature on Tegelön and the archipelago (thanks so much for the kayaks!). People we met on the island were very pleasant and sympathetic. The connection to Stockholm by ferry is also a big plus. Communication with Robert and organization of arrival and departure were excellent so we highly recommend a stay!

Nice place in wonderful environment, and very friendly people everywhere around, cannot compare with the busy 'selfish' people in Stockholm centre. If you want to relax for a while this place is perfect. Just the bathroom is ready for an upgrade...

This is a place like no other with hypnotic views and unbeatable sunsets. We were fascinated with watching the cruise ships enter and leave Stockholm, plus spent many an hour stargazing with a glass of wine or two. Utterly unbeatable. Obviously, there is the challenge of learning how 'to do' the ferry's, but once you crack the code then you can go where you need. Robert was extremely helpful regarding the challenges of staying on an island with no shops. He advised us about which ferry to take and how much food to buy initially - then where to go the next day to get more sufficient supplies for the week. Tegelon is a test in avoiding an addiction to peace, mind blowing views and a break from the rat race. We especially enjoyed our walks around the island, occasionally coming across the island's own few deer wandering freely. There is also a small beach just downhill from the house which was such a stunning place to sit and admire the view. We really enjoyed a couple of days out to the neighbouring islands of Vaxholm and Grinda - both beautiful and well worth visiting. I couldn't recommend Robert as a host and Tegelon as a location highly enough. The challenges associated with its location and relative 'off the grid' style are pretty much part of the reason to visit!! I would say that the real challenge, is being able to tear yourself away!

Thank you Lyndsay and Steve! We are also upgrading the ferry timetables + all the hidden codes like semaphores ;-) and so on. You seem to have caught the same feeling as we often have spending time on the island. As I wrote you earlier, please come and stay with us again, you guys are excellent guests!

Robert's island summer home was fantastic. The setting was idyllic with vistas beyond compare. Robert made us feel so welcome prior, during and after our stay. He was very prompt in communicating with us and even helped us arrange for transportation on and off the island.

Robert was great at informing us on how to reach the house via public transport and answering general questions we had about the place. He also organised a friend to ferry us over when there was no public boat, which was a special experience. The house was lovely and spacious with one larger bedroom and a smaller one in the main house as well as a cottage in the back (which we didn't need). The fireplace was delicious. Great views. Robert was available on the phone when we needed some help to get the fire going - which was great.
