Guest access

It's a big house with plenty of different spaces to meet others or be private. You will have use of a guest lounge with TV and fire and a separate breakfast room / conservatory. Please note our kitchen is not available to guests as we often use it for making produce for our shop. There is a washing machine and drier you are welcome to use. There are 2 bathrooms - a wet room with open shower, a separate toilet on the same floor and another bathroom on the top floor with both bath and modern shower.

Interaction with guests

We will meet you and show you around the house and garden. You may meet other guests if another room is booked at the same time. Dino our cat though, a little shy may say hello. Most days we are at our shop & restaurant in Brixton Village market - we are happy for you to pop in during the day - We can give you an insiders guide to Brixton Village, recommend great local places to eat and curious places off the beaten track for you to visit.owl

Check in: 1pm -10pm
Please check if you want to check in outside these hours.
Early arrivals: you are welcome to come and drop off your bags from 9am onwards. If the room is ready (no guests the previous night) you can often check in before 1pm, just ask.

Late arrivals: We can sometimes make an exception, but we don't generally accept arrivals after 10pm as it is disruptive for other guests. If you have a flight arriving after 8.30/9pm, it is unlikely you will make it to our house before 10pm.

Check in is by advance arrangement at a time suitable to both parties - we try to be as flexible as possible with check in to fit with guests travel plans - but this does not mean 'anytime'. If you arrive at a time not previously agreed you may not find us home.

We like to check in guests ourselves and show them around the house and garden, though are times when we are both working, both away when our housemate Jenny or a friend will be there to welcome you instead.

Check out
Is 11am or before, after which we need to clean and get the room ready for future guests. You need to leave keys in the room door and remove any bags, though it is often possible for you to leave bags downstairs to collect later.

Anne's place is perfect. Nothing else to say! With the warmth of your own home and the luxuries of a grand hotel, you cannot possibly go wrong starting here! Anne was the most lovely host, despite us eventually arriving a day and a half late! (Long story) Brixton is way more amazing than we had expected, a buzzing, brilliant melting pot set 15 minutes away from Oxford Circus! While there - head to Salon for a feed! Don't be disheartened if the restaurant is packed as the bar menu is just as extraordinary! For any other recommendations, refer to Anne's booklet as its jam packed with local tips (most of which we had no time to experience) All in all we had a wonderful stay, and I'm sure that would be the same for anybody!

Our hosts made us feel very welcome. In fact we ended up staying longer than originally intended. The place was exactly as described in a very convenient location with numerous buses passing practically outside. The metro is 3 short stops on the bus down the road to Brixton or you can walk easily. The place is extremely well kept, tastefully decorated with a wonderful breakfast provided to start the day, reflecting the love the owners have for the house and the consideration & helpfulness they offer their guests. Our room had an attic feel about it, as it was on the top floor and had a cosiness to it with attractive furnishings. The bed was amazingly comfortable and there was a window looking down onto a lovely garden which offered plenty of light. It provided all our needs with a bathroom right next door. We were extremely happy with this airbnb & the hosts are outstanding. I totally recommend this listing

My stay at Anne and Ian's home was very pleasant. The room was lovely, it was clean, the bed extremely comfy and also quiet at night so you can get a good night's sleep. There is WiFi and it's fairly fast. The bathroom is also very clean. The location is superb. Very near a bus station (maybe a minute or two walk) that can take you to the Brixton tube station, and there you can travel all over London . Brixton is also an awesome place, with great food choices. Anne and Ian were helpful, providing assistance when I asked for it. The house is tastefully decorated, very charming and cosy. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone and would stay there again when I'm in London.

I can't think of a better place in to stay. I can't think of better host than Anne and Ian.

Anne User ProfileAnne is a superhost.

My background is in design and innovation and my partner Ian is a chef. We have a little restaurant in Brixton Village market and a shop selling useful, beautiful and curious things for the home. We like gardening, growing food & eating it. We travel a fair bit and have had some great experiences through Airbnb. We are really looking forward to being hosts ourselves and helping people explore Brixton and our favourite 'secret' bits of London.
