This beautiful newly built loft cottage is the perfect private getaway, located in the Seattle's historic Central District means quick and convenient access to everything that this spectacular city has to offer.

The space

Our newly built backyard cottage is the perfect, private in city dwelling. This spacious loft style living space features a open floor plan that is not only comfortable but also conveniently equipped with all the amenities of home. The open floor plan gives you the feel of being in a space much larger. All the built in details have been modified for small space living. The ladder to reach the upper loft bedroom is ONLY suitable for healthy able bodied climbers and should be avoided by anyone with knee or ankle issues. THE RISE IS STEEP AND THE DISTANCE BETWEEN EACH STEP IS GREATER THAN WHAT IS TYPICAL, TAKE YOUR TIME !
But once on the upper level you can relax in the comfort of a memory foam mattress and primp in a quaint 1/2 bath. The second bed is a queen size sofa bed with a memory foam topper supplied for extra comfort. This space is clean and new and just for you!

Guest access

Built only a year ago every aspect of this space is designed for convenience and comfort of long term dwelling in small spaces. The yard space features 2 sitting decks with security gates for private and secure outside areas. While inside provides all of the comforts of home. Clean, quiet and surprisingly spacious enough to sleep 4 comfortably, but, not privately. The entire house other than the bathrooms are open and accessible living areas to make the most of the small square footage. The main house and the backyard cottage are divided by a fence and feature separate entrances. The only thing shared between the two spaces is access to the garbage, located in the alley and only accessible through the back cottage gate.

Other things to note

This is a backyard cottage so the main house sits within close proximity. There has been fencing modifications made to provide both dwellings private yard space with separate entrances. Due to this still being one property garbage is shared by both spaces and access to the back gate for alley access is through the cottage yard. This is the only time that the front house tenants have access to the cottage space.

To ready for new arrivals check out is by 12pm and check in is not until 3pm.

*There is NO microwave in the kitchen.

Smoking is only permitted on the outside decks at least 20 feet from open entrances. Please dispose cigarette butts properly DO NOT leave them in the yard or on the porch. *If you are a heavy smoker you will be responsible through the security deposit for extra cleaning needed to alleviate the smell of smoke left in the house due to clothing odor transfer onto furniture.

No pets are allowed on the property.

No overnight guests other than those on the rental agreement.

Never more than 4 people maximum in the house at one time.

Nothing is to be flushed down toilets other than human waste and toilet paper.

Spices, seasonings and condiments are provided for your convenience.

Only use HE detergent for washer a small amount is provided for your convenience.

Disturbing the front house tenants for any reason is unnecessary and unacceptable. Due to the close proximity of the two houses, being considerate regarding yard use and noise level is strictly enforced. Noise, rowdiness or inappropriate behavior complaints from neighbors will result in eviction without refund.

All guests are required to take out the trash at the end of their stay. Seattle is a recycle city! This means that food, recyclables and trash must be all separated. There are instructions provided in the house to make this easy.

There is a coal burning grill for your outdoor cooking needs, enjoy!

The communication was very easy and the Location in the backfront of the street made it very quite. The house was clean and we found everything as described. So finally, just little things can be optimized, as a working describtion for the way from Seatac Airport to the house via public transportation, and it is very easy! Thanks a lot to you! The hosts were very welcoming and available to answer any questions that we had. The cottage was exactly as described and pictured. Only thing I'd recommend adding is a small note about the difficulty of getting up/down the ladder to the loft. Unfortunately, I chose to come visit the city during a heat wave. There were a few fans, which provided a small reprieve, but no AC. The neighborhood was very diverse, easily accessible to the busses, and felt safe. It was also not too hilly of an area compared to some other parts of town, so that made it easier to walk/run around, especially in the heat.

It was a cute place. At first when I heard we had to enter through the back i thought it would like some sort of basement but I was wrong it a little house at the back that was totally quiet cause the house was on a big street. Overall I will give the place a 9/10. The reason why I minus 1 point is because when we entered it was not 100% clean there were some dust bunnies and hair on the bed/pillows. The other reason are the stairs. They were very steep and all of us tripped on them at least once. So it would be awesome if u add a step in every existing step u have. Other than that we loved the place.

Thank you Kellie, for the advice about the stairs. I was as clear as possible in the house description regarding the stairs so that people would have an understanding when they arrived, maybe a reminder note by the stairs would be helpful. Sorry about the hair on the freshly washed pillow case.
