We made a reservation for a private room. The person responding to my message mentioned it was the last room. After a long trip we were shocked to walk into the worst hotel room I've ever faced in my entire life. It smelled like fresh paint, there were no curtains, there was no TV even though the description said there would be, electricity cables laid bare all over the place, the lamp was just a bulb and the floor's skirting boards were missing in the bedroom. Obviously this room amongst others, was under construction or renovating, but the management decided to rent them out to us anyways. We did not get any notification of this beforehand at all. When we complained, the receptionist did not seem to know of the current state of the room, and could not provide another room because it was the last one, but made a note anyways. The next receptionist seemed to be aware of the problem and offered us a partial refund. I find it very bad practise, to just rent out messy, unfinished incomplete and smelly hotel rooms to guests for the FULL price and WITHOUT prior notification. A SHAME for a three star hotel. I hope the hotel management gets their mind together. This is no way to run a hotel business.
The listing description was accurate and quite acceptable. The room was small, yet fit our needs fine. The bathroom was recently renovated and very nice. The hotel is situated directly across the street from the Hauptbahnhof which made transit throughout Munich very easy. Finally, the breakfast was excellent and made the whole experience worth. Good hotel. Excellent location. Great breakfast. Friendly staff!
