Enjoy the best of Saint Paul from this charming tree top apartment nestled between Summit Avenue mansions and the bustling shops and restaurants of Grand Avenue.

Enjoy most anything you need for groceries and entertainment within walking distance.

The space

Some would call the apartment a "mother in law" or a "servants quarters." It is the entire third floor of the house. Access is through the side entrance and all the way upstairs to the third floor. It is nestled in the treetops of historic Summit Avenue.

It is a chabby chic style place, so there are some vintage and worn pieces of furniture, but it is cozy and sweet!

Guest access

The entire third floor is yours. There is a patio in the back and some separate outside space with Adirondack chairs.

Interaction with guests

The house is a little bit small and dark. And do not offer parking. Anyway the host is good.

Great place in lovely neighborhood walking distance to just about anything you could want and still a quiet respite. Eric was friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

You won't find anything better than Eric and this cute place. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Eric's 3rd floor apartment was a great place for me and my two teenagers. It was easy to walk to restaurants and the bus and there was always parking available on the street.

This is a very nice neighborhood which is well located for bus transportation, coffee shops, restaurants and places of interest such as St. Paul Cathedral, Minnesota History Museum, James J. Hill House and the Minnesota State Capitol. Eric was a pleasant person to deal with and we had regular interaction with him. Our other host, Mya, was apparently not on site so we had virtually no contact with her. The photos in the listing did not depict the unit as we found it. The air conditioning was marginally effective in cooling the unit and they (2 window units) were very noisy. Eric has a wonderful yellow lab (Maverick) that is often left alone. Maverick would frequently bark/whine/cry which, as dog lovers, we found disconcerting. We would strongly encourage anyone renting to see the unit beforehand as our overall impression was that it was more shabby than chic (paint chipping, wallpaper stained, worn hardwood floors).

Eric User ProfileEric is a superhost.

My name is Eric. My son and I live on site and have lived here for 3 years. This neighborhood is the best in town. I have been here for 7 years and recently moved across the street and down the block to allow a bit more room.

This vintage Victorian home was vacant 3 years ago and I have been working at restoring it to its original condition however the airbandb unit was always in pristine condition.

My son and I spend as much time as we can outdoors tending to gardens or hanging out watching movies on the patio. Cooking is a passion and I love trying new recipes, most based on locally sourced goodies..

As a day job I am veterinarian and own a veterinary hospital nearby.

We host via our charming third floor quarters. It has a private entrance and overlooks beautiful Summit and bustling Grand Avenues.

Remember this is a historic home. The joy of hardwood floors built-ins and claw foot tubs come with century old quirks. If you are expecting new and shiny, you will be disappointed.

But if character and charm are up your alley and you are wanting to nestle into comfort, we have the place for you. Our friends and guests joke that it is a short climb upstairs to feel like you are vacationing in a Parisian apartment.

We have a great front porch and a patio and separate seating in the back, you are welcome to find a quiet place to enjoy the outdoors as well.
