Visit the Luci d'Artista in Salerno
Organize a day in Salerno
Each year the city of Salerno is illuminated by the Art Lights, bright installations that in the Christmas period create a magical atmosphere in the city, inviting thousands of visitors. Here's a bit of useful information to organize your visit to the Salerno Art Lights.

When are the Artist Lights in Salerno?

This year, Artist's Lights will be powered from 4 November 2017 to January 22, 2018. The theme is "The Thousand and One Night".
During this time the lights are lit from sunset until late night. The Villa Comunale, where the enchanted Garden is located, is open every day until midnight and until one o'clock on holidays.

From December 6 to January 8, there will also be Christmas markets along the Trieste promenade.

On 11 November I will also be inaugurated the Panorama Wheel at Piazza della Concordia, 52 meters high.

How to reach Salerno for a visit to the Art Lights from Minori.

The most convenient means is the Bus of the Company of transportation SITA. It stop only 5 minutes far away from the flat and it arrives in Salerno train station.
The train station is in the center of the town and from here it is easy and convenient to walk on foot to see the various installations.

If you are driving people in the car that during the entire Lights period is very complicated to find parking and in the center there is always plenty of traffic. The best option is to park at the Arechi Stadium (just off the freeway) and from there take the metro or shuttles made available by the commune. Metropolitan and shuttles are active until late at night.

What is the best way to see all Art Lights?

Artists' lights twist all over Salerno so it's impossible to see them all during a walk. The ideal would be to sleep in Salerno one night at least so you can explore the different quarters calmly.

This is an itinerary that allows you to visit the city center lights with a walk of about 3 hours.

From the station, at Piazza della Concordia, where the metro and shuttles to the Arechi parking area are also arriving, you will walk along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the shopping street and the Piazza del Portanova where the big Christmas tree is installed. From here you walk into the medieval old town through the historic road of the Mercants. With a small deviation you will reach the Duomo of Salerno and the Temple of Pomona and return on Via dei Mercanti to reach Piazza Largo Campo, the heart of Salerno's movida. Coming from the old town you can find yourself at the Villa Comunale where every year an enchanted garden is created. The walk can then continue going back to the waterfront where the Christmas markets are located to Piazza Flavio Gioia.
